Shawn Hunter is getting married! Boy Meets World alum Rider Strong, who played Cory Matthews' (Ben Savage) bad boy best friend on the ABC sitcom, is getting ready to tie the knot this weekend with fiancee Alexandra Barreto, he confirmed to Us Weekly.
"I'm incredibly lucky to be getting married to my best friend and partner-in-crime," the 33-year-old actor told Us of Barreto, whom he met on the now-defunct show Pepper Dennis.
"We're tying the knot at a summer camp in Oregon," he shared. "It's going to be a camp-themed weekend with everyone sleeping in bunks, a ropes course, games, a talent show…Let's hope it doesn't rain too much."
Strong also revealed there'd be a few special guests at his nuptials. "After I mentioned my favorite band, Typhoon, on Twitter, they offered to come play at our wedding!" he said, adding that he was "so grateful."
As previously reported, Strong popped the question to Barreto on Sunday, Dec. 23, while her parents were visiting for the holidays. Prior to proposing, he spent weeks designing and hand-crafting her engagement ring.
"I found an old-school jeweler who works out of his basement in [L.A.'s] Echo Park and asked him to teach me how to do a lost wax casting," he explains. "I carved the ring out of wax, and then cast it in white gold. I had my dad make a wooden ring box for me. My dad made my mom's ring, so I was following in his footsteps."
