Rory Feek Shares Video of Wife Joey Feek Playing With Daughter | Us Weekly

So inspiring. Rory Feek wrote a new blog post late on Sunday, December 14, showing his wife's Joey Feek's never-endingly positive attitude.

The touching post included a video of their Friday, December 11 activities, when, as Us Weekly reported, terminally ill Joey got out of bed for the first time in weeks and sat on the floor to play with her 23-month-old daughter, Indiana.

"This past Friday was a gift. Not just because the sun was out and shining bright and the Indiana winter-weather seemed far away (although that was wonderful too), but because that afternoon, Joey decided to get out of bed and take a little stroll," the country singer wrote on his inspirational blog, This Life I Live.

"When the door to her bedroom opened up and she came out in the living room, we almost couldn’t believe our eyes," he continued. "We were all so proud of her, but I think Joey was even more proud of herself."

The video, which accompanies the blog post, shows a frail but happy-looking Joey walking carefully through the door and resting on a sofa. The next scenes are of the delighted mom sitting on the floor with baby Indiana, teaching the adoring little tot signs and loving every second.

“A few minutes later, my wife had slid from the couch to the floor and was able to be something for Indiana that she hadn’t been able be in weeks and weeks. She was a mama again," Rory went on. "Playing with and teaching sign language to her little girl, like she’d been dreaming of being able to do."

Rory's blog has detailed his wife's struggle with stage IV cervical cancer since she was diagnosed in 2014. This past October, Joey stopped her chemotherapy treatments and entered hospice care.

But while times are of course tough for the family, Rory's amazing optimism and insight is touching.

"Before Joey went to sleep this evening, I sat beside her and she told me that for her it’s all come into perspective recently," he wrote. "She said that when you’re lying in a bed day after day and you can do nothing and you don’t know if you’re gonna be here next Christmas, or next month or even next week… you suddenly become hyper-aware that today… that this moment – is all you have. And that today is enough. It truly is a gift."
