Rupert Murdoch has blasted Donald Trump for making highly controversial comments about immigrants — calling his claims entirely inaccurate.
Trump, 69, found himself in scorching hot water after he made controversial remarks about immigrants at his presidential campaign kickoff event last month. “The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems,” the hotel mogul noted. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best… They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
And on Sunday, July 12, as his Miss USA pageant was shown on the Reelz network, having been dropped by NBC and Univision due to his controversial comments, Fox media mogul Murdoch decided it was time to have his say on Trump’s immigration scandal.
Taking to Twitter, he made his feelings very clear. “Mexican immigrants, as with all immigrants, have much lower crime rate than native born,” the influential media man wrote, citing El Paso as the safest city cited in America. “Trump wrong,” he added simply.
A few minutes later he added a second comment via Twitter, to underline his point.
“So FBI says 267000 illegal aliens incarcerated. Who are the other two million presently incarcerated? Seems like social breakdown,” he wrote.
Being on the receiving end of criticism is something Trump is getting used to since starting his presidential campaign with racist comments. While corporations from Macy’s to NBC and ESPN have been quick to sever ties with the property magnate, many celebs like Ricky Martin and America Ferrera have also been vocal about their disgust at his claims.

Trump, however, stands behind his statements. When the backlash began last month, he refused to back down, telling Us Weekly, “There is nothing to apologize for. Everything that I said is correct. People are flowing through the borders and we have no idea who they are, where they’re coming from.”
