Not quite a winning date, eh? Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte recently revealed to Cosmopolitan magazine that he’s had his fair share of terrible dates, but one in particular stands out for its sheer awkwardness.

“We went out to dinner and she was a dud, she wasn’t funny, didn’t talk,” the 31-year-old 11-time medalist said. “If I asked her, ‘So what do you do,’ she was like, ‘I’m an accountant’ — that’s it. Just boring. I’m like, ‘OK, so …”

Lochte added that he didn’t have any prior indication of how bad the date would be based on his interactions with the woman online.

“Through text messages and on the phone, she talked, but then in person, it was just like she was a mute and I was like, ‘Can you please say something?’” the athlete said. “The whole dinner was kind of ruined. But I got to eat a lot.”

Lochte, who will compete in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics, told the magazine that he's currently on Tinder, which he first heard about after the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, where the dating app “took off.”

“I got on it and I’ve been matching up with a bunch of gorgeous women who are smart, they have professional jobs and everything,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Wow, this is perfect.’ So I’ve been on Tinder lately. So far I haven’t had any dates or anything. I’ve just been talking with a couple [women].”

In May, Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Lochte was dating Playboy model Kayla Rae Reid. (The pair occasionally share sweet photos of themselves together on social media.)

When asked whether he would ever consider dating a fellow Olympian, the outspoken athlete said no way.

“I could never, no!” Lochte told Us at an Airweave SoHo event in March. “I mean, I just never really tried to go out and date. It just kind of happened, but now that I have someone, it is stability and it is nice. It’s also really nice having someone who isn’t all into swimming.”
