Ryan Phillippe is very much in love! The Secrets and Lies actor dropped by Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show on Wednesday, April 29, and discussed everything from fatherhood, Stern's 60th birthday bash, and new job offers. But first, he gushed about his longtime girlfriend Paulina Slagter.
Phillippe, 40, and his 24-year-old law student love have been dating for four years. The star knows how gorgeous she is, but also loves that she has smarts too.
"She's awesome. When people see her they have these judgments because she could be a model but she's about to graduate Stanford Law," Phillippe told pal Stern. "Also what's great about it — as you get older certain issues become more important to you. I'm very involved in civil rights issues, and so to be with a woman who could actually make an impact in the legal realm — that's a beautiful thing."
Stern couldn't agree more. "This is a [George] Clooney move," he said, referring to the Oscar winner's recent marriage to the Brit lawyer. "George is with Amal [Alamuddin] and she's a sexy woman."
Phillippe may be 16 years older than Slagter, but the star has dated others closer to his age — like Reese Witherspoon. The former Hollywood it couple married from 1999 to 2008 and share daughter Ava, 15, and son Deacon, 11. It's been seven years since Phillippe divorced, but he's open to what the future holds. "It's [serious]," Phillippe said of his relationship with Slagter. "I'm not opposed to [getting married again]."
During the chat (no Reese talk!), Phillippe also revealed that he's going on more business meetings thanks to his ABC hit Secrets and Lies. Recently, he even spoke to Marvel about a possible Netflix series. "Since I became a dad, I love the business [but] it's not everything to me," he told Stern. "I think that's held me back in some regards."
But when Phillippe isn't working (or watching Netflix's Daredevil with Deacon!), he may be trying to practice his best striptease. The hunkier-than-ever actor couldn't help but bring up the time he gave Stern's sidekick Robin Quivers a lap dance during Stern's star-studded NYC birthday party in January 2014.
"It was the weirdest thing. And what upset me so much was hearing your reaction. I think you said that you were disgusted or something," he said, laughing. "The fallout from it was — my girlfriend said, 'What did you do? You just stripped on this show!?' She's a bit younger so her familiarity with the show wasn't to the same degree. So I had to explain to her that I wasn't really naked."
