Sad Grandpa is becoming quite the celebrity! Kenneth Harmon, who went viral earlier this week after granddaughter Kelsey Harmon shared a photo of him eating a hamburger alone, is having a cookout on Saturday, March 26 — and he wants everyone to come!

Kelsey, 19, tweeted the heartbreaking pic on Wednesday, March 16, with the caption, “Dinner with papaw tonight… he made 12 burgers for all 6 grandkids and I’m the only one who showed.”

Kenneth later told Inside Edition, “There was a failure to communicate. I thought that everyone was invited but that is not the way it turned out. There was some grandkids that didn’t know about it.”

Grandson Brock Harmon, 20, who eventually showed up for a bite to eat with his grandfather, took to Twitter on Friday, March 18, to announce that Papaw is having a cookout and “everyone” is invited.

“JUST GOT DONE TALKING TO PAPAW AND HE WANTS TO INVITE EVERYONE OUT FOR A BURGER NEXT SATURDAY,” he tweeted. “Papaw would like me to formally announce he’s having a cookout!!! Next Saturday on March 26th from 11-4 Papaw will be cooking burgers!! Burgers will be $2 a burger. We will also be selling t-shirts with a picture of papaw on them and the saying ‘I had a burger with Papaw.’ This is an invitation for everyone who would like to come!!!!! Papaw said he will cook and take pictures all day if people show up.”

Brock included an Oklahoma address on the informal invitation, adding, “Bring your friends and family out and have a burger with papaw!!!! AGAIN: THIS IS AN OPEN INVITATION FOR EVERYONE!!!!!”

He later told KVUE that proceeds from the T-shirts, which will be sold for $20 to $25 each, will go towards the grandkids’ college tuitions. He added that they’re “looking into some local charities” as well.

“We can’t believe something that small blew up like this,” Brock told KVUE. “It’s crazy how social media can take something so little and magnify it to be ridiculously crazy. No one would ever think that our Papaw would be the most famous Papaw in the world.”
