Four Grammys and likely many cocktails later and Sam Smith is trying to grasp what happened on Sunday, Feb. 8.
The English newcomer took home four Grammys at the 57th annual award show and then celebrated with a bevy of friends at a private residence in Bel-Air, Calif.
According to a source, the strictly VIP fete for Smith kicked off around 11 p.m. but it wasn’t until 1 a.m. when things got going. After the Grammy winner arrived, he went straight to check out an ice sculpture in the center of the room which read “Congratulations Sam!” and was surrounded by four other ice sculptures in the shape of Grammys. After the man of the night arrived, pal Taylor Swift made sure to greet and congratulate him, along with Ed Sheeran and Andrew Hozier.
The group, who were sipping on Stranahan’s whiskey, then hit up the dance floor. According to the insider, Sheeran, Smith, Swift, and Rita Ora were the last at the party, and danced until around 4 a.m. Diplo and Swift’s frenemy Katy Perry were also at the bash.
“What actually happened last night? I am monumentally hungover and keep spontaneously crying lol,” Smith captioned an Instagram photo the following day. In the pic was The Los Angeles Times’ article on the singer and a much-needed carb heavy brunch table.
“I am on another level of hungover right now. Literally feel like I’m dying haha,” he captioned another snap of himself lying in bed sticking out his tongue.
Prior to partying it up together, Smith perfectly summed up his evening, captioning a photo with Swift, “What is my life.”
