Sean Lowe on Dancing With the Stars Competition: Jacoby Jones “Is the Guy to Beat”

The competition has yet to officially begin, but Sean Lowe is already scoping out his competition on season 16 of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. According to the Bachelor star and born-again virgin, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones “is the guy to beat.”

“Jacoby is obviously very athletic. He just won the Super Bowl,” says Lowe, who recently proposed to Catherine Giudici on national television. “And then every time he gets in the end zone, he’s dancing already. So, he’s on my radar.”

Lowe’s pro partner Petra Murgatroyd — who’s previously danced with Brothers & Sisters actor Gilles Marini, former Green Bay Packers wide receiver and Season 14 champ Donald Driver and Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace –is most concerned about another competing athlete: Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

“Olympians do so well in the show. They’re active and they know how to work hard.” Murgatroyd points out. (Previous contestants include tennis champ Martina Navratilova, volleyball player Misty May Treanor and boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr., among many others. Gymnast Shawn Johnson, figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno have each won the Mirror Ball trophy.)

“She’s young and she’s flexible,” Murgatroyd said of Raisman. “She can do all those tricks. Watch out for her!”

The 16th season of Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, March 18, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
