Shortly before Justin Bieber was in jail, his ex Selena Gomez was in rehab. The 21-year-old "Come & Get It" singer secretly entered a rehab facility in January, Us Weekly confirms.
"Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse," a rep for the singer confirmed to Us.
RadarOnline first reported that Bieber's ex-girlfriend was admitted for two weeks to Dawn at The Meadows recovery facility in Wickenburg, Ariz. beginning Jan. 5.
A source told Us that Gomez entered treatment to "get herself together." The former Disney star's secret rehab stint follows her announcement in December that she was canceling the Australian leg of her tour to take some time off.
"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," she said in a statement. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
An insider also told Us at the time: "She has been working nonstop for six years. She needs to take some time for herself. It was a very hard decision because she hates disappointing fans but she needs to focus on her for a bit. She wants to stay healthy."
After the holidays, Gomez went silent on Twitter for a few weeks before sharing more photos from her Instagram. On Jan. 25, she posted a photo of herself kicking up her high heels in a recording studio with the caption, "Therapy."
