As shown in the teaser video released online on Tuesday, May 31, the 7-foot-1 former NBA star certainly looks the part — The wig! The leg warmers! The gray sweatshirt! — as he does his best fancy footwork to “Maniac” by Michael Sembello from the soundtrack of the film about a girl from the wrong side of tracks who dreams of becoming a professional dancer.
Shaq, 44, who’s set to be inducted into the 2016 Basketball Hall of Fame in September, is up against The Talk‘s Aisha Tyler on Thursday’s episode of the hit Spike series.
Can he top the show’s season 2 MVP Channing Tatum‘s twerktastic “Run the World,” which featured a surprise performance from Queen Bey herself? That remains to be seen.
