Bachelor alum Shayne Lamas has lost her baby and is currently hospitalized following a pregnancy complication. "We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable," the star's father, Lorenzo Lamas, issued in a statement to Us Weekly on Monday.
"She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying. We are so very grateful to the hospital personnel and the doctors who saved her life last night. Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much. She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."
According to TMZ, paramedics were called to the Orange County home of the season 12 Bachelor winner after she collapsed. Lamas was taken to the hospital and lost her unborn child during surgery.
The baby would have Lamas' second child with her husband Nik Richie. The pair welcomed daughter Press Dahl Lamas-Richie in November 2011.
Richie, the 32-year-old co-founder of celeb site TheDirty.com, updated readers on Monday on the Lamas family's tough time: "I'm going to take some personal days off from the blogging world," he wrote. "Unfortunate things happen to good people. I’m not the best person in the world, but I love my wife and my family. Shayne is my good person. She is my support and my smile. I found you and I never want to let you go. We will overcome. Us 3."
TMZ reported Monday afternoon that doctors remain "optimistic" about the reality star's recovery. The site also reports her father and husband are both by her side. Click here for more pictures of Shayne.
Richie confirmed to Us Weekly last month that his wife was expecting again. "Both Shayne and I are super excited for our second child," he wrote in a blog post. "I've grown so much as a father and Shayne is an amazing mother. Together we are a great team and love each other very much."
