How’s this for a talking head? Sia stopped by Chelsea Lately on Monday, Aug. 19, talking to Chelsea Handler with her back toward the audience, with only her famous blonde bob in view.
Handler, 39, first asked the elusive “Chandelier” singer to explain why she has been concealing her face in recent performances, videos, and even the album cover for her new record, 1000 Forms of Fear.
“I don’t want to be famous. All my friends that I write pop songs for are super famous, and it really f–ked them up!,” she joked. “And like being hunted, paparazzi-style, doesn’t appeal to me. I want to be able to get fat and pee on the side of the road!”
They also touched on the “Diamonds” songwriter’s recent nuptials.
“Awesome, so nice. You nearly came,” said Sia, 38.
“I wanted to come to your wedding, but it was Sunday night, Palm Springs…I don’t know how to get there!”
As Us Weekly first reported, the elusive performer actually tied the knot on a Saturday, Aug. 2, with filmmaker Erik Anders Lang at her Palm Springs, Calif. home.
To top off her bizarre appearance, she performed her hit song with her face turned away. Meanwhile, swinging from a chandelier, Chelsea’s sidekick Chuy Bravo channeled Dance Moms‘ star Maddie Ziegler, donning a blonde bob wig and flesh-colored unitard like she did in the song’s popular music video.
