Starbucks Unveils the New “Beast Mode Frappuccino” Created by NFL Player Marshawn Lynch: What Is It?

Starbucks unveiled its new Beast Mode Frappuccino, created by NFL player Marshawn Lynch, on Tuesday, Oct. 20 -- what is it?

There are no Skittles in this concoction, but you can sure taste the rainbow! Starbucks unveiled a brand-new member to its Frappuccino family on Tuesday, Oct. 20 — the “Beast Mode Frappuccino” — created by Seattle Seahawks player Marshawn Lynch.

The newest addition to the ice-cold beverage family is a rather colorful concoction that includes the following ingredients: a double mocha base with protein powder (for the athletes out there), combined with a hint of cream and mint, coated with purple berry drizzle, and topped with whipped cream and a dash of matcha.

The partnership between Lynch, 29, and Starbucks, which happens to call Seattle home, is a philanthropic endeavor aimed at empowering youth. For each Beast Mode Frap — playfully nicknamed after Lynch’s on-field persona — that is sold, the coffee giant will send a $0.24 donation to Lynch’s 1st Family Foundation. The contribution goal is $24,000.

The latest Frappuccino was announced after an exciting past year of new flavors under the Starbucks umbrella. Last month, Us Weekly confirmed that the Toasted Graham Latte was the first fall flavor to be introduced by the brand in nearly four years. This past summer, the coffee giant also announced Mini Frappuccinos and other delightful one-off flavors.

Lynch, meanwhile, holds his own star power as the prolific Super Bowl-winning running back of the Seahawks.

The Beast Mode Frappuccino is available at participating Starbucks stores in Washington state and Oakland, CA (Lynch’s hometown) starting Oct. 22 through Feb. 29, 2016.
