And so it begins! The first Republican presidential debate left viewers with one-liners, thoughtful answers, and, well, a lot of Donald Trump. Like many other people around the country, stars grabbed a seat in front of the TV for the two-hour discussion on Thursday, Aug. 6, tweeting their reactions as the night wore on.
Joining Trump on the Cleveland stage were Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Ben Carson, Rand Paul, and John Kasich. Fox News host Megyn Kelly moderated the event.
Some celebs, like Bill Maher and Kirstie Alley, posted insightful comments about the debate. Others, like Bethenny Frankel and Kathy Griffin, poked fun at the discussion.
"Mesmerized by @megynkelly eyelashes. @andy I think she'd make a good #rhooc housewife," Frankel tweeted at Bravo's Andy Cohen. Griffin added of the network: "Wait a minute, I'm actually watching Fox news because I have to and is Facebook sponsoring this thing??? The f—k is going on?"
