"I'm treated like I'm on the D-list," claimed Henson, who's featured on the mag's October 2014 issue cover in a skimpy long-sleeve leotard with a sheer, cleavage-baring bodice. "I'm still being considered with actresses who haven't done half the stuff I've achieved."
Her achievements include scoring a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination in 2009 for her portrayal as Brad Pitt's mom in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Henson also received a Primetime Emmy nod in 2011 for her title role in made-for-TV movie, Taken from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story. The actress has also been nominated for three SAG Awards, and is currently promoting her big new movie, No Good Deed, out Friday, Sept. 12.
Still, the actress, 43, told Ebony that people won't show her the respect she deserves — and that's fine. "When people tell me 'no,' I get hyped," she revealed. "Because when I prove that I can and will, I love watching people eat crow."
The star's celebrity status, however, still comes in handy when her "fat ass" wants to skip the lines at restaurants. "If someone tells me there’s a wait, I’ll walk right to the front of the line like, 'I need a table now. I need to eat, and I want this. So let’s work this out,'" she told Ebony.
It's the kind of scenario that less-prestigious Bravo stars might envy, especially since Henson confessed her ultimate guilty pleasure is "watching ratchet, ratchet television" like the smash Housewives franchise. "Like, any of the Real Housewives shows, especially when they were fighting and a girl got her weave snatched out — that is my guilty pleasure," Henson elaborated. "Sometimes, I’ll just sit in front of the TV, screaming, 'Ratchet, ratchet, ratchet! Where’s the ratchet TV?'
The October 2014 issue of Ebony is out on newsstands now.
