He's a Swiftie!
It looks like Taylor Swift may have found a new squad member. Ryan Adams has announced that he's covering the singer's entire 1989 album — and she approves!
"Taylor Swift 1989 full album cover night," Adams, 40, tweeted on Wednesday, Aug. 5. "Taking a pinball break #1989 Then synth on Blank Space/Style."
The "Style" singer herself couldn't believe the news. "Is this true??????? I WILL PASS OUT," Swift, 25, responded via Twitter. He replied: "Yes. Just finished 'Style.' Badass tunes, Taylor. We're sandblasting them and they're holding steady."
The indie musician, who split from wife Mandy Moore in late spring, won't be following Swift's pop sound, however. Instead, Adams will be using The Smiths' work as inspiration.
"Cool I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday," Swift later added to Adams. "I'M CALM."
This isn't the first time Swift has been starstruck. (Or "enchanted," if you will.) Back in 2009, she freaked out when Ellen DeGeneres introduced her to her celeb crush at the time, Justin Timberlake. The two later became close, with the former boy bander even celebrating Swift's 25th birthday at her Tribeca apartment in December.
Swift has always been a fan of Law & Order's Mariska Hargitay and Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo, too. The "All Too Well" singer even named her cats, Olivia and Meredith, after the actress' TV characters. In February, she posted an Instagram photo of the pair. "Framing this," she wrote.
Swift has also gushed over Madonna and Bruce Springsteen. "I'll never forget when Bruce Springsteen played 'Dancing in the Dark' backstage at my show on my guitar, then signed it. Such a beautiful night in Raleigh," she captioned an Instagram pic of the "Lonesome Day" rocker in November 2011.
More recently, she had to pinch herself when the Queen of Pop complimented her during Network Nine's Today show. "It's good to have princesses [of pop]. It means there's lots of pretty dresses around. I like Taylor Swift. I think she writes some really catchy pop songs. I can't get them out of my head," Madonna said at the time.
Swift responded via Tumblr: "Thanks now I'm dead."
Of course, Swift's career basically began with a fangirl moment. Calvin Harris' love first broke out with the debut single "Tim McGraw" in 2006. She even sang the song in front of the country hunk at the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards.
