Salinas has an aggressive form of terminal brain cancer, and while her parents had worked hard to tick off all the items on her bucket list as her condition worsened, the dream to dance with Swift had seemed like it was too much to achieve.

At least, that was, until Swift got wind of the little girl’s final wish. As #ShakeItOffJalene started trending on Twitter at the weekend, the Grammy-winning singer became aware of the San Antonio, Texas tot’s dream. In true Swift style, she did what she could to make her tiny fan’s wish come true.

“I’m so sorry you’re having a bad night, I’m so happy to talk to you though and I’m so happy you like ‘Shake it Off'” Swift told her little fan during a 20-minute FaceTime conversation. “You look beautiful tonight, you really do. You’re just as pretty as your pictures.”

Jalene’s mom, Jennifer Arriagas, told KENS5 News that even though her daughter was in pain and didn’t talk much during the conversation, her face lit up when she saw the singer’s image on her cell phone.

“We can check everything off and as her mom it just, it means the world to me that she got to do and see [everything] and everything is checked off now,” Arriagas told the outlet. “It means so much to me that [she] reached out to us.”
