“Literally speechless right now!!!!!” she captioned a photo of the two of them on Instagram. “My best friend (as I call her now) made a special stop from going home to Tennessee and surprised me and gave me the best present/hugg ever!! Thank you!! I love you!! Happy holidays!!”

In the snap, the new besties grin wide, cheek to cheek, with matching bright red pouts. Clements, 12, wears a knitted beanie and a bright green sweater for the occasion.

Clements was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma when she was just 8, and has since created the nonprofit organization Delaney Donates, which helps local families affected by cancer.

Earlier this month, the young girl’s mother took to Facebook to share some somber news — Clements’ cancer had spread to her head. The family, she told fans, has decided to keep her “as comfortable as possible and to keep her spirits uplifted as she travels on a journey we fought so hard to avoid.”

The brave girl’s family and friends launched the social media campaign #DelaneyMeetTaylor in hopes of connecting her to one of her musical idols.

Swift, 26, posted a collage of the hospital visit as well, with the simple caption, “Merry Christmas Baby.”
