Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer regained shared custody of her twin girls, Aliannah and Aleeah, on Wednesday, January 27, and the reality star couldn’t be more thrilled, an insider tells Us Weekly.
“Leah is doing great,” the source says. “She had confidence that she would be proven right and get her custody rights back.”
According to the insider, Messer, 23, will now have the girls on Thursdays through Sundays, and will deliver them to their dad, her ex-husband Corey Simms, on Mondays. He’ll have them for the remainder of the week.
A source close to Simms said that the dad of three — he just welcomed baby girl Remi in November with wife Miranda — “came to an agreement that works best for the girls.” The insider added that Simms will also have his twins one weekend a month, and that the former couple will “split the bills 50-50” as they continue to coparent.
“She was never asking for full custody,” the source adds. “She wants the girls to be able to see their dad.”
In October, a West Virginia judge awarded Simms, 26, primary custody of the former couple’s 6-year-old twins based on accusations that have since been proven false.
“Leah just wasn’t getting them to school,” another source told Us at the time. “They were missing and they were tardy.”
But Messer — who completed a 30-day stay at a treatment facility for anxiety and depression this past June — told Us that the claims were untrue.

“I talked to the superintendent,” she told Us at the time, “and I’m sending them the [time-stamped] pictures I took to prove the girls were not tardy. They’re going to take them off.”
On Wednesday, the first source confirms to Us, the judge did indeed throw out the allegations.
“[Leah] proved in court that the kids were not tardy to school, so the judge said there was no reason the kids shouldn’t be with their mom predominantly,” the insider says.

Messer is also mom to 2-year-old Adalynn with her ex-husband Jeremy Calvert, whom she split with in 2015 after three years of marriage.
