Teen Mom Farrah Abraham’s Mother Slams Her Parenting Skills

Sometimes parents just don't understand!

Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham has made a handful of major decisions in her life, but none have come under as much scrutiny as her latest choice to move from her hometown of Council Bluffs, Iowa to Florida to attend college with her daughter, Sophia.

As a new sneak preview clip from Tuesday's episode shows, Abraham, 20, faces opposition from her parents — namely mom Debra Danielson — when she reveals her plan to relocate.

During a joint counseling session with her husband and daughter, Danielson is outraged at the possibility that her 2-year-old granddaughter will be thousands of miles away.

"The concern I have is for Sophia. I've encouraged [Farrah] to do her aspirations in life, but I don't think it's wise at this moment for her to [take Sophia]," an emotional Danielson admits during the session. "There's Skype, there's airplanes — all kinds of ways to stay in communication. I'm just saying that I don't know why a person [like Farrah] would want to self-actualize and do all the things they want to do in life, but harm somebody in the process," Daniels adds, referring to her granddaughter.

Despite her mother's concern for Sophia's well-being, Abraham remains undeterred in her plan to uproot her family.

"Why do you challenge my parenting?" Abraham fumes in the preview clip. "I don't have to be scared out of moving. I don't see why I need to hold myself somewhere that makes me depressed."

Watch the family's counseling session above and catch the full episode of Teen Mom Tuesday at 10 p.m. (EST) on MTV.
