Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, Will Ferrell as George W. Bush and More of SNL’s Best Political Impressions of All Time

Every election season is not only a chance to cast a ballot for our top presidential candidate, but also an opportunity to watch their larger-than-life personalities spoofed by our country’s favorite comedians on Saturday Night Live. From Tina Fey as Sarah Palin to Will Ferrell as George W. Bush, Us Weekly rounds up the best political impressions in the history of SNL.

Tina Fey as Sarah Palin:

Fey, 45, first portrayed the former vice presidential candidate in 2008, when she ran on Republican nominee John McCain’s ticket. She most recently reprised the beloved role for the Saturday, December 20, 2015 episode of SNL. Joining both Kate McKinnon and Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton for a politically charged skit, Fey fell back into her hilariously accurate depiction of the retired Alaska governor.

Will Ferrell as George W. Bush:

Ferrell is one of several people on SNL to play our 43rd Commander in Chief. The actor, 48, was able to satirize the former president again in his 2009 Broadway show, You’re Welcome America — A Final Night with George W. Bush.

Darrell Hammond as Donald Trump:

SNL alum Hammond, 60, returns to the show periodically to impersonate the current GOP front-runner. Perfectly embodying Trump’s fiery spirit (and even sporting his questionably groomed comb-over), Hammond is a dead ringer for the real estate tycoon turned politician.

Dana Carvey as George Bush:

Last, but certainly not least, is Carvey’s version of the first Bush to claim the Oval Office. The similarities between the once-POTUS and the funnyman, 60, are uncanny — right down to their delivery of the iconic phrase: “Not gonna do it, wouldn’t be prudent.”
