The Kardashian crown goes to . . . the Garden State! A new infographic shared with Us Weekly on Monday, December 28, reveals which states across the U.S. discussed the Kardashian-Jenner family the most in 2015 via anonymous social media app Whisper.
The app, which touts itself as “the safest place on the Internet,” has long promised its users anonymity, and has more than 20 million monthly users. While the terms guarantee secrecy to its users, the developers have created a geolocation tool that can track people who’ve opted in to be traced.
According to the app — which went through tens of thousands of Whispers to aggregate its findings — the state that discussed the reality TV family the most in 2015 was not the Kardashian clan’s native California. Instead, it was located on the opposite coast: New Jersey.
Whisper arrived at their findings by using key words and search terms related to each family member or related to the family, including Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner, Kris Jenner, North West, Saint West, Scott Disick and more.
The family is coming off an especially eventful year in the spotlight with changes such as Caitlyn coming out as a transgender woman, Kourtney’s split from Scott, Kylie moving out of Kris’ home, and the birth of Kim and Kanye West’s second child, Saint.
While Jersey and California topped the 50 states in terms of Kardashian chatter, the app was also able to determine which states discussed the family the least.
