The Instagram user, who goes by the name Hunter, first posted the snap last month with the caption, “i like the feeling of paint on my skin.” A Twitter user by the handle @KingKayden then retweeted the photo, asking, “Are these legs shiny and oily or are they legs with white paint on them?” sparking an internet debate.

While many were completely spooked by the image, thinking the legs were super shiny, others were quick to point out that white paint applied to Hunter’s legs was creating an illusion of shininess.

“@kingkayden this took me way too long,” one honest Twitter user responded, while another quipped: “@kingkayden Without a doubt, white paint. There are no light reflections or distortions on the legs as there would be if oiled.”
