This Soldier Reuniting With Her 13-Year-Old Dog Will Warm Your Heart

Woman's best friend! A video of Army private Hannah Foraker returning home after 10 weeks of basic training and reuniting with her 13-year-old dog, Buddy, has gone viral online — and it's not hard to see why.

In the clip, 21-year-old Foraker kneels on the ground next to Buddy, a golden retriever, who's nearly overcome with excitement at her owner's return. Buddy wags her tail and paws at Foraker's lap, all the while whining breathlessly, before lying down in exhaustion and resting her head on Foraker's knee.

"Buddy was so overwhelmed that she just collapsed in pure happiness," Foraker told Today.com of her beloved canine companion, who suffers from arthritis and hearing problems. "We were apart for [more than three] months, so the reunion was such a beautiful experience."

According to Today, Foraker left her Ohio home in September to start basic training at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Her reunion with Buddy was filmed over Christmas and posted to YouTube in February. It has since racked up nearly 1.9 million views.

"She just wanted me to hug her and reaffirm that I was actually there," Foraker told Today, adding that she checks in on her pup via Skype. "It's always so sweet when she starts licking the laptop!"
