Such a tragedy. Stars like Tony Hawk, Carey Hart and Miles Teller are mourning the death of BMX legend Dave Mirra who was found dead, having apparently committed suicide, on Thursday, January 4.
And as the news spread that the sportsman and former MTV host had passed away, pals took to social media to express their sadness.
"Goodbye Dave Mirra, a true pioneer, icon and legend," skateboarder Hawk wrote. "Thank you for the memories … we are heartbroken."
"I'm in complete shock," motocross star and husband to Pink, Hart, added via Twitter. "Angry, heart broken and just sad at the passing of my friend Dave. Heart broken 4 his daughters and wife. #DaveMirra."
Actor Miles Teller expressed his shock on hearing the tragic news. "RIP Dave Mirra … Damn," he wrote.
And fellow BMX pro Brian Kachinsky tweeted, "Rest in Peace Dave Mirra. Thank you for pushing the boundaries of what was possible. You are a legend."
