Part of the same elaborate prank? Just days after Tyga’s cherry red Ferrari was repossessed, reports have surfaced that the “Ayo” rapper recently lost his $2.2 million Maybach as well.
According to TMZ, the 26-year-old rapper’s 2014 Maybach broke down a few months back and was taken into a Laguna Niguel repair shop. When Tyga failed to make a few crucial payments, the financing company got involved, and the “Rack City” hitmaker essentially forfeited the flashy ride.
On Tuesday, August 30, Tyga and girlfriend Kylie Jenner were reportedly out at a Bentley dealership shopping around for a new car in Calabasas, California, when the repo man showed up to take possession of Tyga’s Ferrari.
TMZ reports that the rapper had missed several lease payments on the sports vehicle; California’s repossession law states that lenders are able to repossess a car as soon as the lessee fails to make a payment — even if it’s just one day.
Jenner, 19, didn’t let the repossession bum her baby out for too long, however, purchasing a brand-new Bentley for her beau the next day and sharing the moment of gifting with her Snapchat fans.
“So, fake stories came out today,” she said in a clip on Wednesday, August 31. “The blogs almost ruined it and said me and T were at the Bentley dealership when really it was only me. And I had to lie to T and say, ‘I have no idea, T, what the story is. I was not at a Bentley dealership.’ But I was!”
The makeup maven then excitedly presented her generous gift to Tyga, who practically jumped for joy at the sight of the gorgeous vehicle.
“Did I lie to you?” Jenner asks in the Snapchat clip.
“I’m speechless right now,” he replies.
In his own Snapchat story, the Kingin’ With Tyga star suggested that the repossession was all part of an elaborate prank concocted by Jenner. “When ur lil baby cops u the Bentley truck and hides your Ferrari. Guess I can’t be mad,” he wrote next to a pic of his new ride, adding a few laughing face emojis.
