Vanessa Williams has already walked down the aisle twice before, so when the actress weds boyfriend Jim Skrip, she’s playing for keeps. “Third time’s the charm,” Williams joked to Us Weekly‘s Loose Talk, dubbing the adage her own personal hashtag.
Choosing to keep her relationship private until her engagement, Williams was forced to open up to Queen Latifah when she debuted a giant diamond during her September 2014 Latifah talk show appearance.
“Vanessa, I have been trying to have a conversation ladies and gents, but I’m blinded by the light coming from that bling ring on your finger,” Latifah joked to Williams, who has partnered with Dress for Success and TracFone to help empower women in the workplace through their “Success Is Calling” program. “Is there something that we need to know around here?”
Williams explained that she met her future husband — a Buffalo, N.Y. native — during a vacation to Egypt nearly two years ago. “You go across the world to find somebody who’s six hours away,” mused the actress, who has four children with exes Ramon Hervey and Rick Fox.
