Amy Schumer is officially off the market! Us Weekly exclusively broke the news that the comedian, 36, married Chris Fischer in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 13. However, who is the mystery man that Schumer was first spotted getting cozy with in November? Here’s everything you need to know.
He’s got friends in high places!
Fischer, 37, fell in love with food when he was a kid, as his grandfather purchased Beetlebung Farm in the ‘50s and meals became a huge part of his life. However, he spent most of his twenties working as a sous chef at Mario Batali’s Babbo in New York City. He met Batali through Jake Gyllenhaal — who is also friends with Schumer.
His sister is Schumer’s assistant.
According to reports, the actress’ assistant is Fischer’s sister — so it’s safe to say that’s how they met.
Family is very important to him.
“When I grew up, and during the summers, my whole family worked on the farm,” Fischer said in a profile with The Nourished Life in 2015, adding that 25-40 family members and friends would come for a sit-down lunch at noon. “Sometimes there were four generations of my family sitting there having lunch.” Every night at 6:30, the Fischers had a family dinner. That encouraged him to return to Martha’s Vineyard and run the farm in 2015, after traveling the world as a chef.
He’s a published author.
In June 2015, Fischer published The Beetlejuice Farm Cookbook: A Year of Cooking on Martha’s Vineyard. “The best part of writing a cookbook is being able to test all the recipes! I was able to basically cook and eat all day long, and best of all, call it ‘work,’” he told MV Times at the time. He went on to win the James Beard award for the book in 2016.
