Teen Mom star Maci Bookout broke up with her boyfriend of two years Kyle King after MTV cameras stopped rolling — but that doesn’t mean their relationship is over.
Calling it quits with King in January, fan favorite Bookout, 20, moved out of the home they shared with her son Bentley, 3, and into a bachelorette pad in Chattanooga, Tenn., with pals, but the single star isn’t worried about getting back into the dating scene. After all, she’s got the perfect guy close at hand.
Six months after the Chattanooga State media technologies senior broke up with King, 24, they’re on the brink of reuniting, a source tells Us Weekly. “They still hook up, and lately they’ve been inseparable.”
Why the change of heart? For Bookout, a wake-up call came when she watched a now year-old fight with King play out on the June 12 season premiere of Teen Mom. “It made her realize how crazy she’d been acting,” says the insider.
The MTV reality star — who will wrap her stint on Teen Mom later this year — isn’t opposed to a longterm relationship with King, but realizes that the key to a lasting bond is a bit of distance. “I think Kyle and I could make things work right now,” she says. “But we’d rather figure ourselves out first and then try to make a life together.”
Still holding out for a wedding and a second baby with King, Bookout is willing to take things slow in order to let King back into her life.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think [Kyle was The One],” Bookout explains. There’s obviously a reason he’s still around…[but] I’ve taken a step back and realized I’m only 20. There’s no need to rush into anything.”
