Don’t mess with Yo! Yolanda Foster slammed fellow former model Stephanie Seymour after the “November Rain” music video star dissed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s model daughter Gigi Hadid.
“It’s sad to see some of these beautiful semi-retired supermodels, who are mothers themselves now, feel the need to publicly put down someone else’s daughter,” the Dutch-born beauty, 52, told TMZ on Sunday, June 19.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, published on June 10, Seymour, 47, declared that Hadid, 21, and her model bestie Kendall Jenner are not “supermodels.” Instead, she said with a laugh, they should be called “bitches of the moment.”
“They are completely different than we were,” Seymour explained to VF, comparing the social media-savvy starlets to the catwalk queens of the ‘90s, such as herself, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford, among others.
“Supermodels are sort of the thing of the past,” she added. “They deserve their own title. [Kendall and Gigi] are beautiful girls, and I support all of them, but they need their own title.”
As previously reported, Jenner, 20, took to her official website, kendallj.com, to respond to Seymour’s remarks.
“Gigi sent me the most recent rant and I’m disappointed,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote. “If you’re going to tell us not to be in ‘your moment,’ then don’t be in mine!”
Like Foster, Jenner brought up the fact that Seymour is a mother, a quality that she feels should make the former cover girl more empathetic toward the E! personality and Hadid.
“No one is trying to steal Stephanie Seymour’s thing, or trying to be her. I actually looked up to her. She has a daughter!” Jenner continued. “I guarantee you that she didn’t imagine someone so publicly shaming her daughter when she made those comments about us being ‘bitches of the moment.’”
Seymour has three kids, sons Peter, 22, Harry, 19, and Lilly Margaret, 11, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Brant. She is also the mom of son Dylan Thomas, 16, from her first marriage to Thomas Andrews.
