She’s spoken out about it, and now she’s putting those words down on paper. Yolanda Foster is set to release a book about her ongoing battle with Lyme disease in February 2017, Entertainment Tonight reports.

The book, titled Believe Me: My Battle With the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease, will be a candid account of the 52-year-old reality star’s illness and how it put a strain on “her previously picture-perfect life,” according to a statement from St. Martin’s Press.

“While doctors continued to dismiss her pain and friends debated about her health diagnosis, Yolanda realized her mission and higher purpose of her journey is to use her newfound platform to educate, and bring awareness to the stigma surrounding chronic Lyme in order to bring hope to other sufferers who have been misdiagnosed and battling the invisible disability of chronic disease in general,” the statement reads.

Last January, Foster — who goes by Yolanda Hadid on her book press materials — opened up about her 2012 diagnosis and how it has impacted her life in a blog on

“Most of you know I have been battling Lyme disease for the past three years,” the mother of three wrote. “I wasted the first year trying to get diagnosed and spent the next two trying to find a cure. I have gone from the conventional long-term antibiotics to about every holistic protocol there is to offer. Unfortunately, I was only able to get to about 60 percent recovery until I relapsed in early December and have not been able to find my way back.”

In October, Foster revealed that her children Bella and Anwar have also been diagnosed with the disease (her eldest daughter, Gigi, does not have the disease).

“God had different plans for me,” she said while accepting an award at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala in NYC on Thursday, October 8. “He changed my destiny when my two youngest children, Bella and Anwar, were diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in early 2012. Watching my babies struggle in silence in order to support me and my journey struck the deepest chord of hopelessness inside of me, and it’s because of them that I’m motivated to stand here in front of you today.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has found ways to keep living life despite her tick-borne illness, however. Earlier this week, the former model showed off her toned bikini body while enjoying a getaway with a friend in Tahiti.
