Is that real?! Former One Direction member Zayn Malik revealed a sizable new tattoo on Friday, March 11, and it’s located in a rather unconventional spot on his body — the side of his face!
His new ink features a bird raising its wings to fly (possibly a phoenix rising from the ruins?), with a ribbon wrapped around it that reads “M.O.M.”
“Like I Would,” the now-solo musician captioned the photo on Instagram.
While the ink at first glance may appear dedicated to his mama, Malik’s caption hints that the letters in the tattoo may actually stand for the title of his upcoming new album, Mind of Mine. “Like I Would” is a bonus track on the record.
Though fans of the 23-year-old are familiar with his appreciation for tattoos, they’re not exactly responding well to his latest piece of body art.
“EWEWWWWWW!!! OMG WHY,” one fan commented on his Instagram post.
“Please let that be a drawing! Not a real tattoo!” wrote another.
