When she’s not out leading the new pack of young Hollywood fashionistas, Zendaya Coleman is perfecting her beauty regimen. The “Replay” singer and actress, 18, dished about her favorite beauty secrets with Us Weekly at BeautyCon L.A. and showed that stars are more like Us than you think!
To keep up on the latest beauty trends and even pick up a few new tricks, Zendaya just opens her computer. The Dancing With the Stars alum confesses that her greatest sources of online beauty inspiration are YouTube makeup tutorial stars Dulce Candy and Michelle Phan.
When it comes to makeup, Zendaya knows that it takes time to get your look exactly right. “You just have to study your own face,” the Disney star tells Us. “Sometimes that just means sitting in front of the mirror and trying things.” Regardless of the look you’re going for, she believes confidence is key: “Just go for it!”
Zendaya also says that although she is a beauty bargain hunter, she isn’t afraid to spend money on key items. “Drugstore lipsticks are bomb,” she gushes. “They’re just as good and way cheaper.” While some products don’t have to break the bank, the singer says it’s worth dropping some more cash on certain items. “Splurge on a good concealer or a good foundation that’s got what you need in it,” she advises.
As far as summer beauty must-haves, Zendaya knows that there’s one thing everyone loves — an amazing glow! “I’m obsessed with anything that’s sparkly,” she says. “Get a good highlighter and boom! Throw it all over that face and you’ll be shining.”
