Hilary Duff, for example, revealed in 2015 that she would pretend to be older to party in Hollywood. “Super naughty! The Lizzie McGuire alum spoke candidly about her underage antics while promoting TV Land’s Younger. While Duff portrays Kelsey Peters on the series, Sutton Foster’s character, Liza Miller, lied about her age to land an editorial gig — and it worked! Kunis confessed in 2012 that she told a white lie while auditioning for That ‘70s Show in her early teens. 

“Legally I was 14, but I told them I was a little bit older … I told them I was gonna be 18, which is not technically a lie,” Kunis explained on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. “‘Cause at one point, I was gonna be 18!”

Gabrielle Carteris

Carteris worried she was too old to play a high school student on Beverly Hills, 90210 back in 1990 (she was 29 at the time!), so she pretended to be younger.

“They didn’t know, I lied,” Carteris admitted on Access Hollywood in 2011. “I actually talked to a lawyer about how could I sign these contracts and lie about my age and still be able to do the show. ‘Is it OK?’ And, ‘Yes it is, as long as you just say you’re over 21.’”

When the rapper filed a police report in 2011 over an alleged assault, the paperwork revealed she was born in 1982. She reportedly previously claimed she was born two years earlier.

The former Disney star admitted in 2015 that she used to lie about her age “all the time” to get into nightclubs. “I think they would all know how old I was anyway. I was pretty well-known by the time I was trying to get into clubs, and they would just let me in anyway,” Duff told Time.

Carla Gugino

Gugino dished to James Corden in 2015 that she pretended to be younger to star in 1989’s Troop Beverly Hills.

"Before IMDb, you could lie about your age, and I was fully rewarded for it because I was 16 and I said I was 14 to get the job," Gugino explained on The Late Late Show. "I got it! … I told the director like three weeks in, once I knew I couldn't get fired 'cause we'd shot enough, I was like, 'Just so you know, I'm 16.' I thought for sure he was gonna be like, 'No big deal,' but he was like, 'Gasp! I would've never hired you if I knew you were 16.'"
