The music world lost one of its most celebrated behind-the-scenes personalities when producer Phil Ramone, a 14-time Grammy winner, died at New York Presbyterian Hospital on March 30, following an aortic aneurysm one month earlier. He was 72 years old. Prior to his death, Ramone worked with some of the biggest names in the biz, including Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, and Billy Joel. “The music world lost a giant today,” Joel said after his death.
