Max Julien
The Mack star died on January 1 at the age of 88. Julien was best known as the pioneer of the blaxploitation film genre, having written and produced Thomasine & Bushrod and Cleopatra Jones. He also appeared in The Black Klansman, Getting Straight, Uptight and How to Be a Player.
