The Parks and Rec alum started out as a waiter at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. “I don’t know if you’ve ever had a dining experience at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., but they love a gregarious waiter who will get in your face and sing you birthday songs and do trivia,” Pratt told Entertainment Weekly in July 2014.

Jennifer Aniston

Just like Rachel Green! “I wasn’t a good waitress, but I was told that I was very nice and charming, so people liked me anyway,” Aniston told Marie Claire in June 2011.

Chris Rock

The comedian once joked about his time at Red Lobster. “The thing about Red Lobster is that if you work there, you can’t afford to eat there,” he told Jay Leno in 2003. “You’re making minimum wage. A shrimp costs minimum wage. I cleaned up after the kids. Kids don’t eat. I used to zero in on a kid. ‘Don’t touch that scallop. Please don’t touch that scallop."

Julianne Moore

Moore told the Daily Mail in 2010 that she was a “good” waitress before her acting career took off. “I’m a worker, I was a good waitress, because if you ask me to do a job, I’ll do it, no matter what it is,” she explained.

The Mad Men star’s first job was at a Greek restaurant in St. Louis. "Working in a restaurant is a good life lesson for anybody," Hamm told Wealthsimple magazine in April 2017. “My friend used to say that no one should be able to work in Hollywood if they haven't worked in a restaurant ... I learned how to be nice to people and to ask for help when I need. I learned to love work and find meaning in it. To this day, I like going to work, clocking in and clocking out, the satisfaction of a job well done."

Rivera opened up about working at Hooters — and that revealing uniform — during a 2013 interview with Allure. “I have nightmares about that job, period. When I was working there, I was really skinny—a lot skinnier than I am now. But I was always self-conscious. It's so funny now to feel completely different."

The rapper revealed in 2014 that she was fired from her job at Red Lobster before her music career took off. “I like dealing with people, but I don't really like a lot of bulls-t, so maybe customer service wasn't the best job for me,” Minaj told GQ at the time.

Bullock and Jennifer Coolidge worked together at a restaurant before they were famous. “She was actually the hostess and I was the cocktail waitress. She ended up getting my shifts because I had such bad attendance,” Coolidge revealed on The Talk in November 2013.

Cannon opened up about working in the service industry during a 2010 episode of MTV’s When I Was 17: “My mother made me get a job at like, Wienerschnitzel, just to kind of help [make] ends meet. The Bridesmaids star told The Guardian in 2011 that she often runs into actors and wonders where she knows them from. "And then I'll remember: oh yeah, I used to serve you Cobb salad,” she explained.

The “Hero” singer worked as a waitress when she first moved to New York City. “I lived like on a mattress on the floor, and I was writing my songs and being a horrible waitress,” Carey explained in a 2016 episode of her reality series, Mariah’s World.
