Britney Spears didn't always have an easy time maintaining friendships under the strict rules of her conservatorship.

"People don’t know this, but when I did Vegas, I was never allowed to go to the spa," the singer wrote via Instagram in January 2022. “They didn’t want me having coffee or tea, so my friends from home would show up going to the spas drinking champagne no lie and I was the loser working and entertaining them at night … doesn’t sound like a good deal to me either !!!!"

Spears was placed under a conservatorship in 2008 after a series of public struggles amid her divorce from Kevin Federline. For 13 years, her father, Jamie Spears, was in charge of her life, both personally and professionally, In the New York Times' documentary Framing Britney Spears, the "Toxic" singer's former assistant Felicia Culotta alleged that she and many others who were once close to the star had been pushed out of her life by her father and management team. Culotta later revealed that she no longer has any way to contact Britney.

Once the conservatorship was lifted in November 2021, the Grammy winner continuously took to social media to publicly slam all of the people who she felt didn't stand up for her over the years — including her mom, Lynne Spears, and younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

Preston and Jayden

The proud mother often gushes about her teenage sons, whom she shares with ex-husband Federline. “There’s a lot I can’t share with you all because my kids are very private which I love but I will tell you they are both extremely talented and I’m so incredibly blessed to have these two little men in my life!!!” she wrote via Instagram in September 2021 while celebrating their birthdays. "And if they’re reading this … which I’m pretty sure they’re not … I love you two little devils so much."

Victoria Asher

Before becoming Britney's assistant and close friend, Asher was a member of Cobra Starship, playing the key tar and providing background vocals. "She’s a shining light. Nothing but love for this special human," the musician wrote via Instagram in April 2022 about the superstar. Asher is also responsible for setting up the meeting between Britney and the creator of her favorite show, Euphoria's Sam Levinson.

Mathew Rosengart

The lawyer began working with Britney in the summer of 2021 and helped her end the conservatorship in November of that year. "This man has turned my life around … So many exciting projects ahead !!!!" the "Outrageous" singer gushed via Instagram in February 2022, adding that she "adore[s]" the attorney. "Thank you for being so kind and respectful to me always 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹!!!!!!"

Bryan Spears

Unlike his sisters, Bryan has stayed out of the spotlight over the years. However, in July 2020 he gave a small insight into his relationship with the mother of two, noting that they "speak constantly" on the “As Not Seen on TV” podcast.

Donatella Versace

The fashion designer, who has worked with Britney on many of her iconic dresses over the years, stopped by for a visit in March 2022. "Look who came to visit … these 2 bad bitches are up to no good," the "Lucky" singer wrote via Instagram, along with photos of her and Versace giggling.

Kate and Oliver Hudson

The siblings sent Britney a video for her birthday in December 2021, in which they crooned a slightly explicit version of "Happy Birthday" and blew her kisses.

Felicia Culotta

Though they haven't spoken since 2015, Culotta became extremely close to the star when she was hired as the then-teenager's chaperone in the early days of her career. I don’t know that I ever really had any definition on what I was supposed to do with Britney. For a long time, they called me her chaperone and then at one point they wanted to call me her partner and we didn’t think that sounded right,” she said in Framing Britney Spears. "I definitely wasn’t her mother or her big sister, so we settled on assistant." Culotta has been an outspoken supporter of the singer and spoke out against the conservatorship multiple times over the years.

Selena Gomez

The Disney Channel alum celebrated at Britney's June 2022 wedding to Asghari. One year prior, Gomez sent a sweet message to the former Mickey Mouse Clubhouse star as she continued the battle to end her conservatorship — and quoted Gomez's song "Kill Em With Kindness" via Instagram. "Love you @britneyspears! You're welcome to come cook with me any time!" the Only Murders in the Building actress commented in August 2021.

Madonna

The two performers go way back, even sparking controversy together at the 2003 MTV VMAs when they locked lips on stage during a medley of "Like a Virgin," "Hollywood" and "Work It." Before Britney's conservatorship ended in November 2021, Madonna was a vocal supporter of the #FreeBritney movement, comparing the legal contract to "slavery" in a July 2021 Instagram Story. One year later, Madonna attended Britney and Asghari's California nuptials.

In the early 2000s, the This Is Paris star and the Glee alum were among the hottest in Hollywood. "I can't believe it's been 15 years since this #iconic photo was snapped, and we were dubbed the #HolyTrinity of the 2000's," Hilton wrote via Instagram in December 2021 alongside a throwback snap of her, Britney and Lindsay Lohan.
