The Sweet Magnolias star, 30, laid out her case during part two of her “Call Her Daddy” podcast interview, which was released on Thursday, January 20. She went in-depth about the resources she offered the pop star, 40, and the backlash she has received from fans who do not believe Jamie Lynn attempted to assist her sibling. The episode included a follow-up segment, which was recorded on Tuesday, January 18, amid Britney and Jamie Lynn’s social media war. The Zoey 101 alum drew the Grammy winner’s ire while doing press for her book, Things I Should Have Said. “Jamie Lynn … congrats babe! You’ve stooped to a whole new level of LOW,” Britney wrote via Twitter on Saturday, January 15. “So please please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books!!! NOW and only NOW do I know only a scum person would make up such things about someone.” Britney’s team sent a cease and desist letter to Jamie Lynn after part one of her “Call Her Daddy” interview dropped on Tuesday, alleging that the Netflix star's book “exploited her for monetary gain.” The actress’ lawyer responded with a letter claiming that Britney failed “to specify any legal wrongdoing whatsoever” regarding Jamie Lynn’s memoir. Here are the facts, and you want the truth? Here’s the truth.’ And then the separate side is that this is my sister who I know and I love, and when every headline’s gone away and everything else is done, I’m still gonna be her sister. It doesn’t matter. And people need to stop inserting themselves into our situation and egging it on and encouraging it.” Jamie Lynn went on to express her hope for unity. “You should be encouraging healing and [wanting] something to really be fixed here because it’s very clear that there are people in pain in this situation. It’s apparent that it’s not a healthy thing for anyone, yet we’re egging it on because we love the s--tshow,” she said. “It has to stop because it’s not funny. This is my life. These are people I love. And look what’s happened to my family when all these people have inserted themselves — this one’s got a lawyer, that one’s got a lawyer, this one’s got a friend, this one’s got an agent. We need to separate it all and just be a family again or else we’re just gonna end up back where we started, and that’s not what we want.” As for her relationship with Britney moving forward, Jamie Lynn vowed to continue supporting the "Circus" singer, though she has not heard from her. “This is my blood. Jamie Lynn Suggested Britney Move to End Her Conservatorship

The former Nickelodeon star claimed that she offered to help Britney multiple times when she learned that the Grammy winner wanted to end her conservatorship. (Britney was officially freed in November 2021.) 

“I gave her the number of judges. I talked to her lawyer on the phone, which blew up in my face and everybody turned against me. Because I guess maybe that lawyer wasn’t gonna get a paycheck if he didn’t have a job,” she alleged. “I spoke with her lawyer and I told him a lot of s--t, and it went nowhere.”  

Jamie Lynn also claimed she told Britney she could come live with her in Louisiana. “I do know some judges and we did have some stuff looked into, and we told my sister many times [that] all she had to do was go live out of state for six months and the conservatorship will be absolved because she’ll take residence in another state,” she said, noting that she understood that to be the case at the time.

Why Jamie Lynn Didn’t Speak Out Against the Conservatorship

“I never thought that I’d get grouped into this hatefulness because I knew that I’d always tried to help and stuff, so then I was thinking in my head, I’m never gonna have to speak up, I always did the right thing,” Jamie Lynn recalled, later adding that she was scared to talk about it because of the potential legal repercussions. “To me, it was like, why would I have to say anything? She knows it, we know it.”

Jamie Lynn Denies She Was Ever Involved in the Conservatorship

The author clarified that she never had a role in Britney’s conservatorship, despite being asked to handle a trust for her sister’s sons, Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15.  

“My sister asked me to oversee a trust if something were to happen to her,” Jamie Lynn explained. “Now, when I was approached by her team of lawyers or whatever and they were like, ‘Well, you have to get a lawyer and do that.’ … I did not even follow through with these steps to be a trustee over that will or anything. And that never even had anything to do with the conservatorship.”  

In the follow-up from Tuesday, Jamie Lynn added that her trepidation about Britney’s legal team also swayed her. “I didn’t really think she was being represented properly by her lawyer, and then also everything she did at that time was under the conservatorship,” she said. “It didn’t matter what kind of legal thing was done, so that would mean by me signing something like that, I am doing something under a conservatorship that I don’t necessarily trust. So I didn’t wanna sign anything that connected me to the conservatorship. … It was still under the umbrella of the conservatorship. Everything was.”

Britney’s Response to the Hate Jamie Lynn Has Received

Jamie Lynn claimed that she told Britney about the threats she and her daughters — Maddie, 13, and Ivey, 3 — have gotten due to the “Gimme More” singer’s social media posts about her family. Although Jamie Lynn alleged that Britney told her the conservatorship drama was not her fault, she also claimed that Britney said “she never talks about my kids so what the f--k am I talking about?” adding, “I don’t think she cares.”

The country singer shared screenshots of lengthy text messages she sent to Britney in November 2020 warning her about her lawyer’s interests. Jamie Lynn told Britney that her attorney was preoccupied by fame and speculated that she should not trust him. Jamie Lynn believed that she might have been blocked by Britney at the time, so she sent the same messages to her now-fiancé, Sam Asghari. She allegedly never heard back from either of them. 

“I am sick of seeing this whole thing just keep going in circles, so I figured I should see what I could do to help,” Jamie Lynn wrote at the time. “I have no reason to send this to you, other [than] I love you, and I’m trying to be helpful. I’m here if you need anything.”

Why Jamie Lynn Stopped Talking to Her Mom

Jamie Lynn got emotional when asked why she cut off communication with her mom, Lynne Spears. “I wanted her to stop inserting herself in the conservatorship, and so I didn’t understand why we were bringing more people into the conservatorship as opposed to taking them out,” she said. “But I didn’t speak to her and I thought maybe that too would show Britney how committed I was to her.”
