Dancing with her heart! Julianne Hough has had her fair share of relationships before marrying — and later separating — her estranged husband, Brooks Laich. The Dancing With the Stars judge was introduced to Laich by her Curve costar Teddy Sears in December 2013. The former NHL player revealed in 2014 that Sears was inspired to play matchmaker while he and Hough were filming the horror movie. “On set, apparently, he was talking with Julianne … and asked her if she’d been seeing anyone, and she said no or whatever, and I guess he was watching our hockey game at the time,” Laich told radio station 106.7 FM The Fan in 2014. “He always watches the game on Game Center on his iPad. And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect." Hough began dating the dancer — whom she knew since she was a child — in 2005. The twosome even got engaged but called it quits in 2007.

“I had another boyfriend [at the time], Chuck Wicks, whom I met on Dancing With the Stars," she said. "While we were dating, we went on Ryan’s radio show together. The interview’s on YouTube, and I blush when I hear it because Ryan is hitting on me the entire time! At the end, Ryan said something like, ‘You guys really have something special!’ And I thought to myself, ‘He’s so full of s--t right now.'”

The former couple began dating in 2014 and married in 2017. Us broke the news in January 2020 that Hough and the former Washington Capitals player were "having problems" in their marriage after the Kinrgy founder was spotted multiple times without her wedding ring. However, a source told Us in March 2020 that they had worked through their issues and were "totally fine."

One month later, another insider revealed that Laich and the Grease: Live star were "not doing well" as they both quarantined separately amid the coronavirus pandemic. Hough and Laich announced their separation in May 2020.
