A few days after the Times' report, the Weinstein Company board of representatives released a statement announcing that they had “terminated” his employment with the company that he had founded with his brother, Bob Weinstein, in 2005, “effective immediately.”

The New Yorker then published its own exposé that included several accusations of sexual assault. In response to that investigative story, Weinstein’s spokesperson released a statement denying the allegations.

“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein,” Sallie Hofmeister told Us on October 10. “Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances. Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual. Mr. Weinstein has begun counseling, has listened to the community and is pursuing a better path. Mr. Weinstein is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance.”

Huett claimed that after she declined Weinstein’s offer for oral sex during what was supposed to be a business meeting in 2010, he persisted and performed oral sex on her as well as masturbated in front of her. “I didn’t know how to say no to someone like him at the time, which I regret,” Huett said on October 25, noting that she had turned the businessman down a few years prior. “I wish I would have shut it down right there, like I did a few years earlier.” The actress is suing the Weinstein Company, who fired Weinstein on October 8, alleging that the company was complicit in his abuse

Malthe held a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred on Wednesday, October 25, and told reporters that after meeting Weinstein at a party in 2008, he barged into her hotel room, took off his pants and sat on her bed. “He said that he could give me a part in an upcoming film,” Malthe explained. “With the implication being that I had to sleep with him in order to get it.”

The 12 Years a Slave actress detailed several alleged encounters with Weinstein in an op-ed published by The New York Times on October 19. She went to his house in Connecticut in 2011 to watch one of his competitor's films with his family. About 15 minutes into the movie, he led her into his bedroom for a massage and "he said he wanted to take off his pants," she alleged. A few months later, Nyong'o and Weinstein had drinks after a screening in New York City. She claimed he offered to "have the rest of our meal" in a private room. When she declined, he allegedly replied, "He told me not to be so naïve. If I wanted to be an actress, then I had to be willing to do this sort of thing. He said he had dated Famous Actress X and Y and look where that had gotten them." Before leaving the restaurant, Nyong'o asked Weinstein if they were "good," to which she claimed he responded, "I don’t know about your career, but you'll be fine."

The Teaching Mrs. Tingle actress, 43, recalled a string of alleged encounters with Weinstein in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "What happened to me, even though it was uncomfortable, was much more of a transactional situation," she said. "He wanted to barter sex for movie roles. In other cases, he was forcing himself on them. It's so shocking that he got away with it for as long as he did. I never realized the scope of it. I felt like an island and naively didn't know how pervasive it was."

The filmmaker, 47, showed his solidarity for sexual abuse survivors by announcing his plans to donate the future residuals from his Weinstein-backed films to the nonprofit Women in Film. "No f--king movie is worth all this. Like, my entire career, f--k it, take it," he said on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast. "It's wrapped up in something really f--king horrible. I'm not looking for sympathy. I know it's not my fault, but I didn't f--king help. I sat out there talking about this man like he was a hero, like he was my friend, like he was my father and s--t like that."

The Big Little Lies actress, 50, revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, October 18, that she was sexually assaulted as a teenager. "[I thought] I was one of the lucky ones because I was raised by actors who told me their stories and told me what to look out for, and I realized that I was I still justifying behavior," she explained. "And it was my mom who said, 'No, no, no, Laura. That was sexual assault, that was harassment, that was assault. You were 14 then.'"

The 37-year-old actor halted production on his adaptation of Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock, a film about sexual abuse that would have been produced by The Weinstein Company.

"The brave women who had the courage to stand up and speak their truth about Harvey Weinstein are true heroes to us," Tatum and his producing partner Reid Carolin wrote in a joint statement on Facebook on Wednesday, October 18. "They are lifting the heavy bricks to build the equitable world we all deserve to live in. Our lone project in development with TWC — Matthew Quick’s brilliant book, Forgive Me Leonard Peacock — is a story about a boy whose life was torn asunder by sexual abuse. While we will no longer develop it or anything else that is property of TWC, we are reminded of its powerful message of healing in the wake of tragedy. This is a giant opportunity for real positive change that we proudly commit ourselves to. The truth is out — let's finish what our incredible colleagues started and eliminate abuse from our creative culture once and for all."

Headey alleged that Weinstein sexually harassed her on multiple occasions in the past. The actress shared her story on Twitter on October 17, recalling two separate alleged incidents with the former studio head. "I walked down with him and he stopped and made some suggestive comment, a gesture, I just laughed it off, I was genuinely shocked," she wrote. "I was never in any other Miramax film.” Headey added that years later, after telling Weinstein nothing would happen between them, "He was silent after I spoke, furious," and that he later, "whispered in my ear 'Don’t tell anyone about this, not your manager, not your agent.'”

The country superstar weighed in on the Weinstein scandal during an appearance on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co., saying that it is “a really heartbreaking thing all around.” 

“I only worked with Harvey once and the only thing I remember he worked my butt off … he was a businessman also,” Parton, 71, said on Monday, October 16. “But I never had the problems with him that some of them did. But that happens a lot. I’ve been in this business a long time.”

Asked for her advice for young entertainers getting into the business, she said, “I think things like this are going to bring to the forefront and I think that’ll give them extra strength to say, ‘Hey, remember what happened here? You better back off a little bit.’”

The 9 to 5 actress said that her large family had taught her how to fend off similar predatory behavior during her many decades in showbiz. “I grew up in a family of six brothers and my dad and my uncle, so they kind of taught me the ropes, you know, if I got in those situations,” Parton said. “And so I just kind of have been lucky really, luckier than most. But it’s a sad situation, I agree.”

The Star Wars director spoke out against Weinstein, calling him “a monster,” in a red carpet interview at the Hammer Museum’s Gala in the Garden in L.A., which honored A Wrinkle in Time director and activist Ava DuVernay and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Hilton Als, on Sunday, October 15. “Someone said to me the other day that they are sick of hearing people talk about how disgusting it is,” Abrams, 51, told The Hollywood Reporter. “I don't think enough can be said about how viciously repulsive his abuse of power was. He's a monster. There are other monsters but there are those who fight monsters and tonight is all about those who fight monsters.”

The actress, who starred in Weinstein’s Beautiful Girls in 1996, appeared on Canadian talk show The Social on Monday, October 16, and detailed a frightening incident that happened in the late ’90s, when Weinstein set up a meeting with her in his hotel room. The producer was fully dressed when she arrived, but stripped in front of her in the middle of their conversation, using the bathroom and jumping into the shower.

“He got out of the shower, he dried himself, did not put on the robe and came toward me,” the NCIS actress, 53, said. “When he came toward me, everything changed. The adrenaline rush I felt, I wanted to flee, I was scared. He told me I looked stressed he said that he thought maybe I could use a massage, maybe I could give him a massage. I began sort of babbling like a child. I think it was fear, I said, ‘I don’t know how to give a massage, I don’t have a massage license. Maybe if we call the front desk we can get a masseuse to come here.’”

The Picket Fences alum said that’s when Weinstein started getting angry.

“I began to get really afraid, to be honest. I had to get out of there,” she continued. “He told me that I would make a bad decision if I got out of there. That it would be bad for me and bad for my career. That I needed to keep him as my ally … I pushed him and ran.”

Holly revealed that after leaving Weinstein’s suite she went to a dinner that included influential industry people and arrived crying and covered in hives. When she told them what had happened, they asked her if he’d touched or raped her. When she said no, Holly says they told her to “keep her mouth shut because it’s Harvey Weinstein.”because it’s Harvey Weinstein.”

The Celeb Rehab host was asked by Variety on Monday, October 16, how he thought Weinstein would fare in rehab for sex addiction and said that he questioned the former studio chief’s commitment to the treatment process and suggested that Weinstein’s apologies are not sincere. 

Pinsky said that people struggling with addiction "are not really capable of apologizing, until they’ve been in treatment quite a while. Even then apologies are really empty. They have to make amends. That means cleaning up their side of the street, which means taking the consequence fully for whatever catastrophes they’ve brought upon other people and themselves. And sometimes that means prison time.”

He suggested that until the disgraced producer takes responsibility for his actions, treatment might not be successful.

“To my way of thinking, the more he fights against it, whether it’s taking legal action or taking half measures, the less well it’s going to go,” he added.

Lysette Anthony, best known for her role in British soap opera Hollyoaks, recently filed an incident claim to the London Metropolitan Police reporting that Weinstein raped her in the ‘80s after the two had become friends. Anthony, 54, alleged that Weinstein eventually began to stalk her and turned up to her London home uninvited. Detailing the incident, she told The Sunday Times, “He pushed me inside, rammed me up against a coat rack. He was trying to kiss me and shove me inside. It was disgusting. Finally I just gave up.” Us Weekly has reached out to Anthony for comment. Weinstein has previously stated that any sexual encounters he had were consensual.

The Bond actress issued a statement to Variety on Saturday, October 14, after her mother talked in a French radio interview about the Penny Dreadful star’s unpleasant experience with Weinstein. “I wish to address comments made by my mother in a recent interview regarding Harvey Weinstein,” Green, 37, said in her statement. “I met him for a business meeting in Paris where he behaved inappropriately and I had to push him off. I got away without it going further, but the experience left me shocked and disgusted.”

“I have not discussed this before because I wanted to maintain my privacy, but I understand it is important to do so as I hear about other women’s experiences. Women are often condemned when they speak out and their personal reputations tarnished by association,” the Sin City star continued.

“I salute the great bravery of the women who have come forward,” she concluded. “We should recognize that this sort of behavior exists everywhere and is not unique to the entertainment industry. The exploitation of power is ubiquitous. This behavior is unacceptable and needs to be eliminated.”

Back in 2005, the Hole singer was asked at the Pamela Anderson Comedy Central Roast if she had any advice for young women trying to make it in Hollywood. In a video unearthed by TMZ and posted on Saturday, October 14, Love, 53, hesitated at first, saying, “I’ll get libeled if I say it.” Then she said, “If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party in his Four Seasons [hotel room], don’t go.” After the video was posted on Saturday, Love retweeted the link and wrote, “Although I wasn’t one of his victims, I was eternally banned by CAA for speaking out against #HarveyWeinstein.”

The King’s Speech star expressed his shame on Friday, October 13, for not doing more when Sophie Dix, a British actress he’d worked with on 1993’s Hour of the Pig, told him of a “distressing encounter” she’d had with Weinstein in a hotel room more than 25 years ago. Dix has since gone public with her allegation of sexual assault, which she told the Guardian newspaper on Friday was “the single most damaging thing that’s happened in my life.”

Firth reached out to the Guardian to make a statement after reading Dix’s account. “She told me she had had a distressing encounter with Harvey Weinstein,” Firth, 57, said. “I don’t think she went into all the horrific detail I’ve read in her interview. But I remember her being profoundly upset by it. To my shame, I merely expressed sympathy.”

“I didn’t act on what she told me,” he added. “It was a long time ago and I don’t know if she remembers telling me, but the fact that I had that conversation has come back to haunt me in the light of these revelations. It’s the only direct account of this kind of behavior by Harvey Weinstein that’s ever been told to me.”

“I am extremely pleased that Sophie is speaking out after so many years,” he told the Guardian. “What I heard, it turns out, was part of a horrifying pattern. Other women have been hurt since. And those of us who didn’t act on our one bit of knowledge – and especially those of us who went on to work with Weinstein – have that on our conscience.”

Jane Fonda opened up about the multiple sexual harassment and assault allegations about Harvey Weinstein during CNNMoney on October 12, 2017. "I found out about Harvey about a year ago and I'm ashamed that I didn’t say anything right then," Fonda, 79, said. "Because I guess it hadn’t happened to me and so I didn’t feel it was my place."

"I’m glad it’s coming out. I’m so proud of those fellow actors that are speaking up and I know that it’s taken a long time. It’s a very, very, very, hard thing to do. You don’t get anything out of it as the person who has been victimized. But it’s important that it come out," Fonda said.

Bond Girl Léa Seydoux shared her story of the night Weinstein tried to kiss her multiple times. The pair allegedly met at a show during Paris Fashion Week and he then invited her to his room for a meeting. “We were talking on the sofa when he suddenly jumped on me and tried to kiss me,” she told The Guardian in an article published October 11, 2017. “I had to defend myself. He’s big and fat, so I had to be forceful to resist him.”

“He tried more than once,” she added. “I pushed him physically. I think he respected me because I resisted him.”

“Since that night in his hotel room, I’ve seen him on many other occasions. We are in the same industry, so its impossible to avoid him. I’ve seen how he operates: the way he looks for an opening. The way he tests women to see what he can get away with.”

Claire Forlani took to Twitter to share a lengthy post about Weinstein and expressed her regrets for not joining the expose Ronan Farrow did on the producer after men around her told her not to. "You see, nothing happened to me with Harvey — by that I mean, I escaped 5 times," the Hawaii Five-0 actress recalled of her interactions with Weinstein. "I had two Peninsula Hotel meetings in the evening with Harvey and all I remember was I ducked, dived and ultimately got out of there without getting slobbered over, well just a bit. Yes, massage was suggested. The three dinners with Harvey I don’t really remember the time period, I was 25. I remember him telling me all the actresses who had slept with him and what he had done for them."

She added: “I am feeling very moved that these brave women who came forward are creating alchemy of all bad, brutal ugliness. That maybe now a safe and respectful work environment for the generation coming up will happen. I feel excited, I really do, that this could be a thing of the past, that these men will now not feel they have carte blanche to intimidate, sexualize, bully and ultimately hurt women or girls.”

Eva Longoria spoke about the allegations but chose to use her voice to praise the women for coming forward. “How brave these women were coming forward,” the Desperate Housewives star told ET at the Eva Longoria Foundation annual dinner, on October 12, 2017. of the producer’s alleged victims. “All of these women must've experienced something unimaginable so I respect any woman who has the courage to come out and say, 'This happened to me, and I don’t want it to happen to anybody else.'”

Felicity Huffman spoke out about against Weinstein in an interview with ET, calling the allegations a “well-kept secret.”

“I was really glad that he's being held accountable. I think it has been a well-kept secret in Hollywood, I think he's not the only one,” Huffman said on October 12, 2017. “I think we have a President of the United States who has admitted to sexual abuse and I hope that we start and continue to hold people accountable.”

Tarantino broke his silence in regards to the Weinstein allegations in a message he wrote, which was shared by actress Amber Tamblyn on October 12, 2017, via Twitter. “For the last week I’ve been stunned and heartbroken about the revelations that have come to light about my friend for 25 years Harvey Weinstein,” the Kill Bill director wrote. “I need a few more days to process my pain, emotions, anger and memory and then I will speak publicly about it.” 

Jane Lynch spoke to Us Weekly about the allegations against Weinstein at Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Tie the Knot Five-Year Anniversary Celebration on October 12, 2017. The Glee actress told Us, “It’s almost like it’s a horrible zit that has come to a head, and we popped it, and no more. It’s over. It’s over. It’s out in the open.”

“Young ladies out there and young men all over the world who want to come to be in this business, or in any business, really, you do not need to subject yourself to a powerful person’s sexual advances in order to get ahead,” Lynch continued. “You don't have to do it, and you don't have to be a good girl. You just come to us, and you tell us it happened, and we’ll expose the MF.”

She added: “Yes, it’s over. I don't know why. Everybody goes, ‘Why did it take so long?’ Well, who the F cares? It’s out. It’s done, and we’re not going back. There’s no way we’re going back.”

Portia Doubleday spoke to Us Weekly at the Paley Honors in Hollywood: A gala Celebrating Women in Television on October 12, 2017, and shared a story of the time a man in the industry made her feel uncomfortable and small after touching her hair without her consent.

“It’s so gross, and there are so many stories. I don’t know a woman that doesn’t have a story. So I’m so proud of people coming out,” the Mr. Robot actress told Us. “I think that there will be more women that come out, and I encourage women to come forward and rely on each other during this time.”

“People that are in this particular industry coming forward, we all know them. But this is happening across all industries where people aren’t famous, and don’t have platforms, and don’t feel like they can say anything at all. Because their message might not go far, but I don’t want that to be the case,” she told Us. “And I think as women become more unified in dealing with this, with each other, and how to support each other, I think it’s really going to change things, and I hope that it does.”

Angie Everhart told the story of her own encounter with Weinstein a decade ago while she was sleeping on a friend’s boat at the Canne Film Festival. In a video interview with TMZ, the actress recalled the moment Weinstein walked into the room and stood by the door to block her from leaving, and then masturbated in front of her.

"I told people on the boat, I told people at the dinner I was at, and everybody was like, 'Oh, that's just Harvey,’” she said. "People have known this about Harvey for more than a decade... There isn't a single person who is anybody in this business that doesn't know that Harvey Weinstein has been like that. If they know Harvey, they know he's been like that."

"When I talked about it before, nobody listened. And, now, people are listening. And, not just for me, I'm glad that people are listening so that it doesn't happen anymore because it's not okay. I hope it stops. If anybody else in Hollywood is doing it, shame on you,” she concluded.

Candace Bushnell wrote a New York Times op-ed published October 12, 2017, to share a story about how one of her friends had fallen for the movie producer. “She fell under Harvey’s sway. She allowed that while he was ‘ugly’ she found Harvey bizarrely ‘sexy,’” The Sex and the City author wrote, adding that it was shocking to her to hear that he had harassed so many women.

“A lack of pulchritude never stops rich, powerful men from getting consensual sex,” she explained, adding that Weinstein allegedly gave her friend her first Apple computer and $30,000 to write a screenplay. “Why harass all those women who don’t want to have sex with you when there are women who do, for whatever bizarre and personal and perhaps desperate reason?" she wrote. “Who are consenting? Whom, one assumes, are occasionally saying, yes? What the f--k more do you want, Harvey?”

Minka Kelly came forward with her own story about an uncomfortable encounter she had with Weinstein. The Friday Night Lights alum shared in an Instagram post on October 13, 2017, that the former studio head invited her for a meeting in his hotel room after meeting at an industry party, but she declined. “The following day, we sat down with an assistant in the hotel restaurant. He bullsh-t me for 5 minutes re: movies he could put me in, then asked the assistant to excuse us,” she recalled. “As she walked away, he said, ‘I know you were feeling what I was feeling when we met the other night’ and then regaled me with offers of a lavish life filled with trips around the world on private planes etc. IF I would be his girlfriend. Or, ‘We could just keep this professional.’”

She added: “All I knew was not to offend this very powerful man and to get out of the situation as quickly as possible. I told him while flattered, I'd like to keep things professional. He said ‘Fine. I trust you won't tell anyone about this.’ I said ‘Of course not. Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me,’ - the only way I could think to shut it down gracefully and excuse myself.”

"That was never my experience with Harvey in any way whatsoever, and I think that if people heard these stories…I do believe in humanity enough to think that this wouldn't have just continued," Lively told The Hollywood Reporter on October 12. "I never heard any stories like this — I never heard anything specific — but it's devastating to hear." She added: “I've had plenty of things happen to me whether it be trying on a dress for prom at some clothing store, to a director being inappropriate, to a guy walking down the street where you don't think, 'Oh well, that wasn't actually sexual assault — this guy just, like, grabbed my butt.'"

The actress took issue about the terminology surrounding Weinstein during an October 12 interview with BBC Newsnight. “I don’t think you can describe him as a ‘sex addict,’” she said. “He’s a predator.”

"I was called to meet Harvey Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel when I was 17. I assumed it would be in a conference room which was very common," Beckinsale captioned a throwback photo of herself via Instagram on October 12. "When I arrived reception told me to go to his room. He opened the door in his bathrobe. I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older, unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him," she continued. "After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left, uneasy but unscathed."
She added: "A few years later he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting. I realized he couldn't remember if he had assaulted me or not.”

Mira Sorvino opened up about her decision to allege sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein in a profile published by TIME on Tuesday, October 11. “It has been a real struggle to come forward with my story. I have lived in vague fear of Harvey Weinstein for over 20 years,” the Mighty Aphrodite actress, 50, wrote. “At the time I don’t think I even knew what happened — him using business-related situations to try and press himself sexually on a young woman in his employ — qualified as sexual harassment. But as a woman who routinely advocates for women and girls who have been victimized in my role as Goodwill Ambassador with the United Nations, and as a mother, I could no longer remain silent.”

"I want to add my voice of support for the women who have had the courage to speak out against Harvey Weinstein," Gosling, 36, wrote in a statement on Twitter on Thursday, October 12. "Like most people in Hollywood, I have worked with him and I'm deeply disappointed in myself for being so oblivious to these devastating experiences of sexual harassment and abuse. He is emblematic of a systemic problem. Men should stand with women and work together until there is real accountability and change."

Tom Hanks spoke out against Harvey Weinstein and expressed why he believes that Hollywood executives have defended the movie mogul in the past. "Well, that's a really good question and isn't it part and parcel to all of society somehow, that people in power get away with this?" he told The New York Times on Tuesday, October 11. "Look, I don't want to rag on Harvey but so obviously something went down there."

Cara Delevingne claimed in an Instagram post on Wednesday, October 11, that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her in his hotel room. "At that moment I felt very powerless and scared but didn't want to act that way hoping that I was wrong about the incident," the supermodel wrote of the alleged harassment.

"There is no excuse for sexual harassment or sexual assault — no matter who you are and no matter what profession," the Oscar winner wrote on social media on Tuesday, October 10. "I applaud the strength and courage of the women who came forward and made their voices heard."

"Any man in a position of power or authority who thinks it’s his prerogative to threaten, intimidate or sexually assault any woman he encounters or works alongside needs to be called to account. It is never easy for a woman to come forward in such situations and I wholeheartedly support those who have," the Oscar winner said in a statement via Variety on Tuesday, October 10. The actress worked with the Weinstein Company on Carol and The Aviator.

"I am utterly disgusted by the continuing revelations of Harvey Weinstein’s horrifying and unforgivable actions. We need to collectively stand up and support victims of abuse such as the brave and inspiring women who have spoken out against him and say we hear you and believe you," he said in a statement on Tuesday, October 10. "That way others may be emboldened by our support to come forward and speak. But we shouldn’t wait until there are any more stories like this. We, as an industry and as a society at large, need to play our part. There has to be zero tolerance of any such behavior in any walk of life. We owe that to these women’s bravery in coming forward."

"The women who have spoken about their abuse are brave and heroic and although I didn’t have a personal experience like this with Harvey Weinstein, I unfortunately cannot say I’m surprised period. This culture always existed, not just in Hollywood but across the world," she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, October 10. "And many men in positions of power have gotten away with it for far too long. We cannot blame the victims here. A lot of these women are young, just starting out in their respective fields, and have absolutely no way to stand up to a man with some much influence, greater than theirs. To say speak up, they are shut down, and that could be the end of their career. This is all a positive step forward in changing that culture, and these young women need to know that they have a support system should anything like this happen to them. And I want you all to know I support you."

"It’s indefensible. That’s the only word you can start with," the Oscar winner told The Daily Beast in a statement on Monday, October 9. "Harvey’s admitted to it, and it’s indefensible. I’ve known Harvey for 20 years. He gave me my first big break as an actor in films on From Dusk Till Dawn, he gave me my first big break as a director with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. We’ve had dinners, we’ve been on location together, we’ve had arguments. But I can tell you that I’ve never seen any of this behavior — ever."

Gwyneth Paltrow revealed that she was sexually harassed by Harvey Weinstein while filming Emma in 1996. “I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,” she recalled in an interview with The New York Times on Monday, October 10, noting that her then-boyfriend approached Weinstein about the alleged incident soon after.

"I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades," Affleck wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, October 10. "The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power."

"I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did," Jolie claimed in an email to The New York Times on Tuesday, October 10. "This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable." Weinstein allegedly made unwanted advances on Jolie in a hotel room in the late 1990s around the release of her film Playing by Heart.

The actress detailed an “uneasy” encounter with Weinstein, in which he told Graham he wanted to put her in one of his films. “Later in the conversation, he mentioned that he had an agreement with his wife. He could sleep with whomever he wanted when he was out of town,” she wrote in a guest column for Variety on October 10. “There was no explicit mention that to star in one of those films I had to sleep with him, but the subtext was there.”

"Let's be clear. What Harvey Weinstein did to those women was nothing short of abuse. I am disturbed, and disgusted. It's appalling," Wilde tweeted on Monday, October 9. "Though I never witnessed it, I stand in solidarity with his victims, and hope their bravery sends a loud message to all abusers of power. The victim blaming needs to stop. As does the shaming of women who didn't come forward earlier. They spoke, and we are here to listen."

"To be clear what Harvey Weinstein did was a disgusting abuse of power and horrible,” The Avengers star, 49, tweeted on Sunday, October 8. “I hope we are now seeing the beginning of the end of these abuses."

“The disgraceful news about Harvey Weinstein has appalled those of us whose work he championed, and those whose good and worthy causes he supported,” the Oscar winner, 68, said in a statement to HuffPost on Monday, October 9. “The intrepid women who raised their voices to expose this abuse are our heroes.”

“I was warned from the beginning,” the two-time Oscar nominee, 40, tweeted on Monday, October 9. “The stories were everywhere. To deny that is to create an environment for it to happen again.”

"I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein’s behavior," the actress told Variety in a statement on Monday, October 9. "I worked with Harvey five years ago and I did not experience any form of harassment personally, nor did I know about any of these allegations. This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting. My heart goes out to all of the women affected by these gross actions. And I want to thank them for their bravery to come forward." Lawrence won an Oscar in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook, which was produced by Weinstein.

Last year the Charmed alum, 44, alleged in a series of tweets that a studio head raped her but she hadn’t reported the alleged crime because a female attorney told her that “because I’d done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head.” The New York Times article claimed that Weinstein paid McGowan $100,000 in 1997 after “an episode in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival.” On Thursday, October 5, after the Times story came out, she tweeted, “Women fight on. And to the men out there, stand up. We need you as allies. #bebrave.” The following day she tweeted, “Ladies of Hollywood, your silence is deafening.” On Sunday, October 8, McGowan tweeted a throwback picture of herself along with the caption, “This is the girl that was hurt by a monster. This is who you are shaming with your silence.”

 “I stand with all the women who have been sexually harassed, and am awestruck by their bravery. This mistreatment of women has to stop,” Watson wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, October 10. “In this instance it was women affected but I also stand with all the men, indeed any person, who has suffered sexual harassment."

Matt Damon shut down rumors that he tried to kill a 2004 New York Times story about allegations against the film producer. "Look, even before I was famous, I didn't abide this kind of behavior. But now, as the father of four daughters, this is the kind of sexual predation that keeps me up at night," the actor told Deadline on Tuesday, October 10. "This is the great fear for all of us."

"We know this stuff goes on in the world. I did five or six movies with Harvey. I never saw this," Damon continued. "I think a lot of actors have come out and said, everybody's saying we all knew. That's not true. This type of predation happens behind closed doors and out of public view. If there was ever an event that I was at and Harvey was doing this kind of thing and I didn't see it, then I am so deeply sorry, because I would have stopped it. And I will peel my eyes back now, father than I ever have, to look for this type of behavior. Because we know that it happens. I feel horrible for these women and it's wonderful they have this incredible courage and are standing up now."

The actor later admitted on Good Morning America that he and Ben Affleck knew that Weinstein allegedly sexually harassed Gwyneth Paltrow. "I knew the story about Gwyneth from Ben because he was with her after [her relationship with] Brad [Pitt]," he said on Monday, October 23. "I never talked to Gwyneth about it. Ben told me. But I knew that they had come to whatever agreement or understanding that they had come to. She had handled it, and she was the first lady of Miramax. And he treated her incredibly respectfully, always."

“Coming forward about sexual abuse and coercion is scary and women have nothing to be gained by personally doing so,” the Oscar winner, 56, tweeted on Monday, October 9. “But through their bravery we move forward as a culture and I think them. Stand with @AshleyJudd @rosemcgowan and others.”

The 49-year-old detailed an incident involving Weinstein in the New York Times report that led to the producer taking a leave of absence and subsequently being fired. She told the paper that she went to his hotel room, thinking they were having a business meeting, when he greeted her in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage or if she wanted to watch him take a shower. “How do I get out of the room as fast as possible without alienating Harvey Weinstein?” she recalled thinking. Since Weinstein’s ouster, Judd has taken to Twitter to thank her celeb supporters, including Josh Gad, Kathy Najimy, Christina Lahti and Heather Graham.

“I’m sitting here, deeply upset, acknowledging to myself that, yes, for many years, I have been aware of the vague rumors that Harvey Weinstein had a pattern of behaving inappropriately around women,” the six-time Oscar-nominee, 70, wrote in a statement to The New York Times on Monday, October 9. “Harvey has always been decent to me, but now that the rumors are being substantiated, I feel angry and darkly sad.”

“I’m angry, not just at him and the conspiracy of silence around his actions, but also that the ‘casting couch’ phenomenon, so to speak, is still a reality in our business and in the world: the horrible pressure, the awful expectation put on a woman when a powerful, egotistical, entitled bully expects sexual favors in exchange for a job,” she continued. “Ours is an industry in which very few actors are indispensable and women are cast in far fewer roles than men, so the stakes are higher for women and make them more vulnerable to the manipulations of a predator. I applaud the monumental courage of the women who have spoken up. I hope that their stories and the reportage that gave them their voices represents a tipping point, that more stories will be told and that change will follow.”

“The changes must be both institutional and personal. Men and women, in positions of power, must create a work environment in which people, whose jobs depend on them, feel safe to report threatening and inappropriate behavior, like that reported in the Times. No one should be coerced into trading personal dignity for professional success,” she added. “I feel the time is long and tragically overdue for all of us in the industry, women and men, to unite — calmly and dispassionately — and create a new culture of respect, equality and empowerment, where bullies and their enablers are no longer allowed to prosper.”

"Horrifying, harrowing," Clinton tweeted on Tuesday, October 10, about Ronan Farrow's New Yorker expose on Weinstein.

"The fact that these women are starting to speak out about the gross misconduct of one of our most important and well regarded film producers, is incredibly brave and has been deeply shocking to hear. The way Harvey Weinstein has treated these vulnerable, talented young women is NOT the way women should ever EVER deem to be acceptable or commonplace in ANY workplace," the Oscar winner said in a statement. "I have no doubt that for these women this time has been, and continues to be extremely traumatic. I fully embrace and salute their profound courage, and I unequivocally support this level of very necessary exposure of someone who has behaved in reprehensible and disgusting ways. His behavior is without question disgraceful and appalling and very, very wrong. I had hoped that these kind of stories were just made up rumors, maybe we have all been naïve. And it makes me so angry. There must be ‘no tolerance’ of this degrading, vile treatment of women in ANY workplace anywhere in the world.”

After years of rumors that the Moi had “some kind of transactional relationship with Weinsten, the actress shut down the reports in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter. “I did not exchange sexual favors with Harvey Weinstein, or anyone, for advancement in my career. I was never paid any settlement. The truth is that I have never been alone in a room with Harvey Weinstein,” she wrote. “The extent of my interactions with him has been a handful of polite hellos at various premieres and award shows. This is in no way a defense of this person, it is merely a statement of fact.” Moi also wrote that she was “angry and disgusted about Harvey Weinstein’s abuse of power and his shameless assaults against women.”

The actress, who starred in several films backed by Harvey throughout her career, including Good Will Hunting, spoke to Variety about the allegations. “In light of the revelations about Harvey Weinstein in the past few days, I feel it necessary to add my support for the women who have been victimized and have been brave enough to talk about it,” Driver said. “While I never experienced any abuse while working with Harvey, I think it’s important to add my voice to those of women everywhere who have experienced abuse at the hands of powerful men.”

“When a scandal like this comes to light, only good can come from it — the fact that feeling like there’s going to culpability in regards to harassment in the workplace and in this industry specifically,” Moore said during an interview with EW Radio on October 10. “It’s important for us to talk about because it does exist and women need to be believed and their stories need to be out there.”

The late-night host joked in his Monday, October 8, monologue, "What's the difference between Harvey Weinstein and the Pillsbury Doughboy?” The punchline: “When the Pillsbury Doughboy offers you a roll, he doesn't ask you to watch him take a shower for it."

The former Daily Show correspondent called the movie mogul’s behavior ”indefensible” and joked about Weinstein's lawyers referring to him as "an old dinosaur learning new ways." Colbert said on Monday, October 8, ”OK, a) That's no excuse. b) Dinosaurs didn't touch themselves in front of the employees. The T-rex's arms were way too short.”

The SNL alum opted to bring out three of his female writers — Amber Ruffin, Jenny Hagel and Ally Hord — to talk about Weinstein. “We want to start by applauding the women who went on the record,” Hagel said, with Hord pointing out, “He blamed his disrespecting of women on the era he came from, which would be a good excuse if he came from a time machine.”

"Harvey Weinstein was fired by his company yesterday for being accused of sexual harassment," the NBC host joked on his Monday, October 8, episode. "They said if he keeps it up, he'll end up with his own show on Fox News."

“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein,” Hillary Clinton wrote in a statement posted to Twitter on Tuesday, October 10. “The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior."

The British Dame, 82, who has frequently worked with the studio boss and won an Oscar for Weinstein’s Shakespeare in Love in 1999, said in a statement, “Whilst there is no doubt that Harvey Weinstein has helped and championed my career for the past 20 years, I was completely unaware of these offences which are, of course, horrifying, and I offer my sympathy to those who have suffered, and wholehearted support to those who have spoken out.”

The Clerks writer and director, 47, who began his career with Weinstein, tweeted on Monday, October 9, “He financed the first 14 years of my career — and now I know while I was profiting, others were in terrible pain. It makes me feel ashamed.”

The Girls creator and star, 31, called out men for their “deafening silence” over the sexual harassment allegations in a New York Times op-ed on Monday, October 9. “The reason I am zeroing in on the men is that they have the least to lose and the most power to shift the narrative, and are probably not dealing with the same level of collective and personal trauma around these allegations,” she wrote. “But here we are, days later, waiting for Mr. Weinstein’s most powerful collaborators to say something. Anything. It wouldn’t be just a gift to the women he has victimized, but a message to the women who are watching our industry closely. They need a signal that we do not approve of the abuse of power and hatred of women that is the driving force behind this kind of behavior.”

The actress and director, 34, called on Weinstein to release the women he has made settlements with from their non-disclosure agreements. “Mr. Weinstein, I would have the upmost respect for you if you did this. The beginning of all healing is the truth. Let them speak,” she tweeted on Friday, October 6. She followed it up the next day with, “Please stop holding actresses and women accountable for these silences and shaming them for not coming forward immediately. Stop.”

The Superstore star, 33, tweeted on Thursday, October 5, “This abuse of power must be called out, however powerful the abuser, and we must publicly stand with those brave enough to come forward.”

The Birdcage star, 61, recounted a story to the New York Post’s Page Six on Sunday, October 8, about Weinstein attacking him during a birthday party for Hillary Clinton in 2000. Lane — who was MCing the evening — claimed that Weinstein threw him against a wall for a joke he made about former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani’s comb-over. “This is my f--king show, we don’t need you,” Weinstein reportedly exclaimed. “You can’t hurt me, I don’t have a film career,” The Producers star snapped back.

“Huge respect for @AshleyJudd and all the women who broke their silence for the article on Harvey Weinstein. Brave,” the Thelma & Louise actress, 71, wrote on Sunday, October 8.

“Coming forward about sexual abuse and coercion is scary and women have nothing to be gained by personally doing so,” the Oscar winner, 56, tweeted on Monday, October 9. “But through their bravery we move forward as a culture and I think them. Stand with @AshleyJudd @rosemcgowan and others.”
