Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson Spills All of Her Wedding Secrets Before Her Big Day

It’s wedding bells for Sadie Robertson and Christian Huff! The Duck Dynasty alum, 22, opened up to Us Weekly exclusively about all of the plans she has for her big day later this month, including specialty milkshakes during the reception and the reason she wanted to walk down the aisle at her family’s home in Louisiana. “My whole life I always said I wanted to get married at my house,” the bride-to-be revealed. “I've been in California and Tennessee and all these different places and I think for me, when I'm home, it's like my safe place. It's like just a place of peace.” Robertson “screamed yes” when Huff proposed on his 19th birthday in June. After the two had spent nearly 11 months together, the former Dancing With the Stars contestant declared herself “the happiest human in the world” when Huff popped the question. The happy couple are gearing up for a “huge party” the day they tie the knot, with a guest list of more than 600 and counting. “I have a huge family and [Huff] has a huge family and we wanted our people there,” the former A&E star said. Among the pending RSVPs is her former Dancing With the Stars partner, Mark Ballas, who happens to share the same wedding date. “He’s trying to make it,” Robertson said excitedly. “We're still so close and of course I would love for him to be there and he would too.” Despite having a few famous faces in the crowd on the special day, Robertson and Huff hope to keep the wedding family-oriented. There's No Place Like Home

'Dancing With the Stars' Reunions

The Duck Dynasty star says the makeup artist she worked with on season 19 of the ABC competition series will be giving her the glam treatment on her special day. “We had this special relationship,” Robertson told Us. Ballas will hopefully be able to see her walk down the aisle as well.

The homage to Robertson’s home state continues with Louisiana-style cuisine by Chef John Folse, who’s a “pretty big deal down here in the south.” Along with the Cajun inspired meals, the reception will have a milkshake, coffee and champagne bar!

“Duck Dynasty is just our family being our family,” the bride-to-be said of her family’s popular A&E series. “So there are elements of it [in the wedding,] but more just family being family.

Passionate Prayer

Louie Giglio, a pastor at Passion City Church in Atlanta, will be officiating the wedding but Robertson revealed that her father, Willie Robertson, and one of her uncles will be leading a prayer during the service as well.

Writing Their Own Vows

The Duck Dynasty star and her fiancé are making their day as memorable as possible by writing their own vows to exchange in front of their guests. “We haven't told each other what they are,” Robertson said. “We're excited to just share those with each other and have that special moment.

First Dance

For their first appearance as Mr. and Mrs., the couple will be dancing to a live performance of “Known” by Tauren Wells. Robertson says the Christian rock singer “commented on one of my pictures and was like, 'I'd love to sing at our wedding' … he's actually gonna sing it!”

Nailing Down the Final Touches

The whirlwind of wedding planning is “down to the minor details,” but the happy couple are working their way through hundreds of “over-the-top thank you [notes]” to their families and friends before the big day.

Looking to the Future

Though Huff and Robertson are both eager to start a family, they want to enjoy spending time with each other before they think about having kids. “He and I [both] come from a big family and we love that, but definitely want to wait a little while. We want to just be married first.”
