Who Is Sadie Sink? 5 Things to Know About Taylor Swift's 'All Too Well' Short Film Lead

Capturing everyone's attention! As fans prepared for Taylor Swift's rereleased version of her 2012 album, Red, the singer threw everyone for a loop by announcing a short film to accompany the new 10-minute version of "All Too Well. The video, set to drop alongside the record on Friday, November 12, features Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink as the lead couple. The pairing came as a surprise to some fans, but other eagle-eyed Swifties noticed the stars' ages mirror those of Swift, now 31, and ex-boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal, who inspired much of the Red album. While some may not be familiar with Sink, 19, she is already a household name for others after her performance as Max on season 2 of Netflix's Stranger Things. Before joining the hit show, the Dear Zoe star opened up about her introduction to the cultural phenomenon. “My friend had told me about Stranger Things and how I had to watch it,” Sink explained to The Hollywood Reporter in November 2017. “I was like, ‘OK, I will!’ I binged it in, like, a day and was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, mom, you need to watch this show. Everyone needs to watch this.’ A week later, I got the breakdown for Max. A month later, I got the part.” Even before joining the show's second season, Sink had already connected to her character very strongly. I knew the big following Stranger Things had and I really liked the show, but even if I hadn’t known what the show was, I still really related to the character and I really liked the material," she noted at the time. "I loved how she had this backstory where things are not easy for her, but she’s still super tough. I really liked that. She could be feisty and funny at times, too.” Sink's name blew up because of her involvement in the science fiction show and the Eli star booked the role of Ziggy Berman in the horror franchise Fear Street. "When I was looking over the script, at first glance, you can check [Ziggy] off as a very aggressive and intense character who's mad at the world. All of these things are true,” she told MTV in July 2017. “But what was important to me was to go and find moments that she was a little bit softer, and the moments that showed more of her vulnerabilities." At the time, Sink drew comparisons between Max and Ziggy because of the ways each character stood out on screen. "Max still has this innocence about her. And I think she really enjoys being a kid and being free and everything," the Dominion narrator said at the time. "Ziggy is very misunderstood and wants to be seen as an adult because she's wise beyond her years. So the role is definitely more mature than my work than I've done on Stranger Things. 1. She's a Modern Day Scream Queen

Fans may recognize Sink from her scene-stealing performances as Max on Stranger Things and Ziggy in the Fear Street franchise. For Sink, getting to work on a scary film was a career-changing experience.

"There's this energy that's so fun on the horror movie set," she told MTV after Fear Street's release. "And even though, sometimes, it's actually pretty tense and scary when it needs to be, for the most part, weirdly it feels a little bit more lighthearted than when you're doing something that's more dramatic."

2. She Is Vegan

Sink worked with Woody Harrelson on The Glass Castle in 2017 and was inspired to go vegan after previously opting for a vegetarian lifestyle.

“I did it mainly for the animals, but then also the environment as well. I think a lot of people do it for health reasons also and I think that’s great, but I consider that when you’re vegan, the health benefits are a bonus," she told Vegan Life magazine in April 2018. "The most important thing to me is that I’m helping the animals and the environment.”

3. She Is a Taylor Swift Fan

The model was already a huge fan of the Miss Americana star before signing onto appear in the "All Too Well" short. 

“I mean, [Taylor's] the moment right now, so I think I would have to go with her,” Sink told MTV during a resurfaced interview earlier this year. “Maybe I should just start a fan account.”

The Texas naive also shared that the “All Too Well" lyrics are her favorite to scream. When asked about the 10-minute version of the track, the Blue Bloods alum added, “You don’t even know how excited I am. It’s all I’ve ever wanted, really.”

4. She Uses Social Media to Raise Awareness About Important Subjects

During an interview with Glamour Magazine U.K., Sink admitted that she has made an effort to limit the amount of time she spends online.

"Some of my friends think I live under a rock because I don’t know what all the makeup trends are, or all the details of what’s happening on social media, but I think that’s so great," she noted in March. "It’s crazy how much you can learn and how much inspiration you can draw from social media, but you can also draw inspiration from the real world." 

The Netflix star has previously used her social media to discuss subjects including planet-friendly products, pet adoption, animal sanctuaries and more, even showing her support for the #TimesUp movement at the 2018 Golden Globes.

5. Acting Made Her Reconsider College

"When I was younger, it was like, 'Oh, of course, I'm going to college,'" she told MTV in July, noting that her education plans have been put on pause for the moment. "And then you actually get to that point and you're like, 'Wait, I don't know if this is the right idea. I think that would be too much for me right now.' And if I've learned anything from the [coronavirus] pandemic, it's [to] take it one day at a time. You can't predict the future. So that's what I'm doing right now, I'm playing it by ear."

Sink noted that she "can definitely see myself going one day," but the COVID-19 crisis shifted the way she looks at the future.

"All these big changes were happening in my life, I had a lot of personal growth, I think," she added at the time. "And I came out of the pandemic being so grateful for work and being able to be on set and being able to safely surround myself with faces that I'd missed so much."
