Scott Disick isn’t the only one who isn’t totally rooting for Kravis. Shanna Moakler has had a very public up-and-down journey regarding her ex-husband Travis Barker’s romance with Kourtney Kardashian. The Blink-182 drummer and the former model were first linked in 2002, welcoming son Landon in 2003 and daughter Alabama in 2005. Two years after tying the knot in 2004, they called it quits. They dated on and off for two more years before finalizing their divorce in 2008. After Barker began his relationship with the Poosh founder, whom he was friends with for years, in late 2020, Moakler alleged that she signed the divorce papers after she caught the musician with Kourtney’s sister Kim Kardashian. “He had already had an affair with Paris Hilton. And … at the time Kim was Paris’ closet organizer, they were best friends. And he started using [Kim] as a model for [his clothing company], Famous Stars and Straps,” she alleged at the time. “We were working on our marriage and trying to heal through that affair, that infidelity, [but] he continued to [work with her]. … He is dating her sister now, so I think that would be really weird.” Barker, for his part, denied ever hooking up with Kim in his 2015 book, Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums, but did admit that she was “f–king hot.” Kim later called Moakler’s claims a “false narrative” in May 2021, writing via Instagram Stories: “We’ve been friends for years and I’m so happy for him and Kourt.” [jwplayer ysE03b6c-l3ahXupL] As things heated up with Barker and Kourtney, Moakler told Us in May 2021 that she wasn’t “bothered” by their PDA-filled romance — but worried it is affecting her relationship with her kids. “I don’t even find [their actions] even scandalous or whatever. Like, if you’re in love and you want to show that off, go for it,” she said at the time. “I don’t have any feelings toward either one of them, like, I’m not jealous of them [Travis and Kourtney], I don’t think about them. If they want to run off into the sunset like by all means, but you know, don’t alienate my children in the process.” A source told Us in July 2021 that Barker and Moakler’s coparenting relationship had “hit rock bottom.” “She wants to get rid of everything that reminds her of him and reminds her of the happier times,” the insider said. “Shanna is scoping out auction houses to auction off sentimental things that Travis has gotten her when they were together. She wants to sell her engagement ring … She also wants to sell her wedding ring.” Three months later, Barker proposed to Kourtney — and Landon and Alabama were among those celebrating the proposal. Initial Support

In the early stages of Kourtney and Barker’s romance, Moakler told Us that she had “no ill will” toward the pair.

“As long as she’s great to my kids and they’re both happy, I’m happy for them,” she said in February 2021. “I absolutely am super happy for them. … My kids seem to really like her, and they all seem [to be] in a good place, and I’m in a good place, so it’s good!”

Social Media Shade

In February 2021, Moakler made headlines when her official Instagram account “liked” a comment that suggested Barker “downgraded” with Kardashian. She later told Us that it was a “complete accident.”

“A lot of times when I’m on my social media, I ‘like’ all the fans’ comments,” she said at the time. “I just kind of go down and heart everything and I didn’t even read that comment. I didn’t even know I ‘liked’ it until the press picked it up and it was all over the place. It was just kind of an unfortunate event, but I definitely wasn’t trying to start a social media war!”

Drama With the Kids

Things took a turn in May 2021 when Alabama alleged that Moakler “has never completely been in my life.” That same month, Landon shared a similar sentiment, writing via Instagram that Moakler "isn't in [their] lives like” Barker is. The remarks from the two teenagers came after they made it clear they approved of Kourtney, referring to their romance as “true love.”

Moakler initially denied any issues with her kids, telling Us: "I’m not really sure why my kids put that out there. I’m their mother. I love them. It’s hurtful and heartbreaking to have your kids say that. ... I feel like, as teenagers, they do rebel and say things sometimes they don’t mean. As a mother ... I'll always be there for my children, no matter what. I love them. I understand that we all have growing pains.”

The following month, she told Page Six that she was giving Alabama and Landon distance. “I’m just trying to give everybody some space so we can heal and come back together again,” she said in June 2021. “I don’t really know what’s going to happen in the future. It’s been very difficult and emotional and sad.”

Allegations About Kim and Travis

As the drama with her kids became public, Moakler claimed to Us that she “caught” Kim and Barker together and that’s why she filed for divorce.

‘Recycling’ Our Romance

“What was weird is that they were posting about a movie [True Romance] that Travis and I basically bonded over. I called him Clarence in the movie. We named our daughter after the character Alabama in the movie. I walked down the aisle to ‘You’re So Cool’ from True Romance. Our first dance at our wedding was to the love song from True Romance,” Moakler told Us in May 2021. “Then, like, having the banner fly over [for Kourtney’s birthday in April], which is documented in our TV show, Meet the Barkers. I just said that I thought it was kind of weird.”

In addition to alleging that Barker is “recycling” their relationship, she told Us it was in “poor taste” to document covering his tattoo of her name with Kourtney by his side.

“Why post about it if you’re not trying to shade me? And then, of course, you know, my kids see that. They see their father basically insulting their mother, you know?” she said.

Engagement Reaction

After Barker popped the question in October 2021, Moakler wrote that she was “temporarily closed for spiritual maintenance” via Instagram Stories. She also shared a quote that read: “Tupac once said: Before you ask why someone hates you, ask yourself why you give a f–k.”

Getting the Scaries

When the musician and his then-fiancée dressed as the main characters from True Romance for Halloween in 2021, Moakler teased that seeing the pair mimic the movie that brought her and Barker together felt "like an episode of Punk'd."

So Obsessed?

Following her stint on season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother, Moakler denied being "obsessed" with her ex-husband's relationship. "I'm in a relationship and I'm really happy, and it's just not something that's centered in my world," she told Entertainment Tonight in February 2022. "That's why I was so excited for this Big Brother opportunity, because I wanted America to see me for who I was, and not necessarily what's pumped out to the masses and the media sometimes."

Sending Her Love

When Barker faced health issues in June 2022, Moakler released a statement with a nod to Kourtney.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern to my ex and father of my children,” she told Us a the time. “I know he is in great hands and surrounded by loving support, the best medical teams available and his beautiful wife Kourtney. … Travis has beat the odds numerous times and I know with his support system he will do it again. I will always be here for him and my children. Godspeed.”

Wedding Special Fallout

After Landon and Alabama gushed about their new stepmom in speeches at the Italian nuptials — documented on the Hulu special — and on Kourtney’s 44th birthday in April 2023, Moakler “liked” an Instagram comment that read: “I hope that you get a huge apology some day for what was said on that exploitative, money grabbing, circus. ‘He’s been through Hell’ ‘Kourtney has filled a void for me.’ #parentalalienationawareness.”

She also replied to another user who asked Moakler about Kourtney calling herself a “mother of six,” responding: “She post[s] more of my kids then [SIC] her own lol.”

Kourtney, for her part, wasn’t impressed by the social media shade, according to a source.

“Kourtney thinks it’s unfortunate that Shanna finds it hard to support the love she has for her kids. They’re Travis’ children too, and hers in a way now since she’s their stepmom,” an insider told Us at the time. “Kourtney fully believes in loving their kids just as much as her own.”
