Sophia Bush Holds Hands With Grant Hughes During Romantic Day Out in Malibu

New flame? Sophia Bush was seen enjoying a day out in Malibu with a mystery man on Sunday, May 17. The One Tree Hill alum, 37, and her new beau — later identified by Us Weekly as Grant Hughes — both donned their protective gear as they stepped out for a romantic afternoon stroll amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Bush was dressed down in a pair of blue jeans and a white top, finishing the casual look with a face mask that read, "Support healthcare workers." Hughes wore dark sunglasses and a white cloth mask to complement his head-to-toe denim outfit. "When you’re in the public eye, for example, and you have a relationship that ends, as most do, people say, ‘Oh this failed, this marriage failed, this couple failed.’ Well, no, they just ran their course," she said. "I’m still trying to work it out in real time."

Ups and Downs

Though she's faced challenges in her romantic life, Bush has always been grateful for her strong friendships. "I have companionship because I have the most tremendous community," she said during the "Anna Faris Is Unqualified" podcast in 2018. "My friends are so special and amazing, they are ride-or-die, travel the world, show up at 2 a.m., good humans."
