Serena Williams

The tennis pro was fined $17,000 over her losing match against Naomi Osaka at the U.S. Open women’s final on September 8, 2018. She was reportedly fined $10,000 for the verbal abuse of umpire Carlos Ramos, $4,000 for being warned for coaching and $3,000 for smashing her racket. During the match, she said she didn't "cheat to win" and that Ramos owed her an apology. She later addressed gender inequality on the court in a press conference.

Tiger Woods

Days after the National Enquirer claimed he had an affair with Rachel Uchitel, the 33-year-old golf champ -- he and wife Elin Nordegren have two kids -- suffered facial lacerations in a car crash outside his Florida home. "The only person responsible for this accident is me," he said in a statement.

Kobe Bryant

In 2003, the L.A. Laker was accused of sexually assaulting 19-year old Katelyn Faber at a hotel in Eagle, Colorado. Bryant -- married to wife Vanessa since 2001 -- admitted to committing adultery but denied raping Faber. Charges were eventually dropped; he and Vanessa are still together.

OJ Simpson

In what was dubbed the "trial of the century," the former NFL star was acquitted in 1995 for the murder of ex-wife Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman. In 2008, Simpson was found guilty of a violent Las Vegas robbery and assault, and is now serving at least nine years in prison.

Charles Barkley

After he ran through a stop sign in Scottsdale, Ariz., the outspoken basketball star was arrested and convicted for driving under the influence on Dec. 31, 2008

Mike Tyson

The heavyweight boxing champ's first marriage in the late 80s to actress Robin Givens was marred by trouble: she accused him of violence, spousal abuse and mental instablity. In 1992, Tyson, now 43, was convicted of raping 18 year-old Desiree Washington and served three years in prison.

Michael Jordan

In 2006, the basketball legend, now 46, divorced wife  Juanita after 17 years together. She reportedly netted $168 million -- the largest celebrity divorce settlement on record.

Alex Rodriguez

His marriage to wife Cynthia ended in 2008 after she discovered his affair with pop star Madonna, now 51. The New York Post had previously connected the New York Yankee, now 34, to an exotic dancer in Toronto.

Isaiah Thomas

The basketball star turned New York Knicks coach, now 48, was sued (along with Madison Square Garden) for sexually harassing Anucha Brown Sanders in 2006. Although he claimed innocence, Thomas admitted to calling Sanders a "bitch" and making physical advances.

Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan

Figure skaters at war! Harding, now 39, admitted to being involved in the 1994 attack on her rival; Kerrigan, now 40, was struck on the knees with a collapsible baton and famously cried "Why? Why?" Harding was banned from the sport.

Michael Vick

Now 29, the football player served 18 months in prison for his involvement in an illegal dog fighting ring which he operated over a five-year period. In 2009, he re-joined the Philadelphia Eagles following his release from prison.

Pete Rose

The Major League baseball player and manager was banned from the sport -- and from the Hall of Fame -- after accusations that he gambled on baseball games (including bets against his own team) while still participating. Now 68, he gave a partial admission of guilt in 2004.
