Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have had their ups and downs over the years as a couple, but when it comes to their family of seven, the pair stand united. The BH90210 star, 46, and the Slasher: Solstice actor, 52, have defended themselves, each other and their kids over everything from their 13-plus-year relationship to their physical appearances. McDermott, for instance, slammed trolls after they took aim at the mother of his five children, Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn and Beau, as well as her Beverly Hills, 90210 costars, Jennie Garth and Gabrielle Carteris, for showing off their swimwear bodies. “I love how you haters have private accts!! Twitter Tirade

The former Chopped Canada host addressed several fans who came for him and his wife in October 2014. “Noticed u didn't post a pic of urself on your profile there cupcake,” he replied to a commenter who called him a “douche” and Spelling a “fame whore.” "Can you say coward? Sending u love anyway. No hate." He later went off after being called a “scumbag” for shopping in a sex shop: “I bought a gag gift to make [Tori] laugh,” he wrote. “All you haters need to F–K OFF!! I've had it with you a--holes. GO F--K YOURSELVES. Who the F--K do you think you are? Any time any place pal. You hide behind your bulls--t twitter name. Show urself prick."

Getting a Rise

Even the Spelling It Like It Is author, who is typically less reactive to her critics than her spouse, had had enough in September 2018 after commenters labeled her brood “a tad overweight” and “fat” and asked if they were on a “good food regimen.” “For all the individuals on here that felt the need to #momshame and #kidshame me and my children I say ‘Shame on you!’” she wrote. “I was raised to believe that if you can’t say anything nice about someone then don’t say anything at all.”

Crossing a Line

McDermott let followers know they’d gone too far in January 2019, after they critiqued the appearance of his children online, claiming that it looked like they “feed and clothe themselves.” “I am absolutely horrified and disgusted by the comments being left about my children,” he responded. “Body shaming and bullying my children??!! What is wrong with you people??!! For your information, we went from a long day at school to the movie. And I don’t know any child that is NOT disheveled at the end of the day. Not to mention that just before this picture was taken, they were wrestling and running around with all the other kids that were at the movie.”

He also defended their wardrobes, adding, “I apologize we didn’t get the iron and steamer out to make them perfect for you. Their [sic] kids. They’re messy and dirty. That’s what they do. And what’s wrong with shopping at Target??!! Over half of America shops there. The way they grow out of clothing so quickly is astounding. Are we supposed to shop at Gucci?? These are kids folks. Messy stinky little bundles of fun, laughter and love.”

Snack Situation

After critics came for Spelling for promoting Little Bites muffins as a pleasing and feel-good snack, the Always & Forever vet lost his cool in a March 2019 Instagram video. “Hey everybody I am sick and tired of everybody taking a shot at my wife, Tori Spelling,” he said in the clip. “She posted about a snack, it’s a snack, people. Haven’t we given our kids a snack before? Cakes, cookies, whatever — it’s a snack. She’s a great mom. We’re great parents. Our kids eat healthy. They eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and occasionally they have a snack. So can we get over ourselves?”

His caption was full of even more ire. Wrote McDermott: “I’VE HAD ENOUGH!! This is news worthy [sic]?? Leave my wife @torispelling alone already!! It’s a post about a snack!! A Snack!!
