Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Join Duchess Kate and Prince William for Their First Royal Engagement

Coolest quartet ever! Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Duchess Kate and Prince William participated in a royal engagement together for the first time on Wednesday, February 28, for the inaugural Royal Foundation Forum in London. 

At the event — titled “Making a Difference Together"— the foursome appeared on stage to discuss why the charitable Royal Foundation was set up, the projects they are working on and their goals for the years ahead. 

Former Suits actress Markle will formally become the fourth patron of the Royal Foundation following her wedding to Harry on May 19.

Launched in 2011, the Royal Foundation was set up by William and Harry, to help them pursue their charitable and philanthropic endeavors. 

During the forum, Markle, who previously worked with organizations UN Women, and World Vision, gushed that the Royal Foundation gives smaller charities “that extra push of support.”

Markle looked regal in a Jason Wu navy wrap dress, while Kate, who is expecting her third child in April, glowed in a blue Seraphine maternity dress.

Though William, Kate, Harry and Markle were photographed walking to church alongside the queen on Christmas Day, the February 28 event marked the first time the four of them appeared together at a royal event. 

“When we work together, we are greater than the sum of our parts,” Prince William explained of the impact on the The Royal Foundation.

Duchess Kate told the audience: “Since our roles are lifetime roles, our commitment to the work we do though The Foundation is genuinely long-term. The work we do do can, and should, have a long-lasting resonance. For this reason, we are able to support causes which were passionate about for decades in the future. Father than just for a few months or years.”

Prince Harry’s bride-to-be said she will “hit the ground running” in her work to empower girls and women in the UK. Markle also referred to the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. “There is no better time to really continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered,” she said, “and people really helping to support them, men included in that.”

Prince William gushed that he was “particularly happy” to be at his “First Royal Foundation event with Meghan.”
