Through sickness, health and … slime?! Ciara accompanied her new husband, Russell Wilson, at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports awards 2016 on Thursday, July 14, where he had hosting duties. The “Dance Like We’re Making Love” singer, 30, chose an appropriately sporty look for the unconventionally messy event held at L.A.’s Westwood neighborhood’s Pauley Pavilion.
Ciara, who wed the Seattle Seahawks quarterback on July 6, took a break from her Roberto Cavalli gowns and Giuseppe Zanotti Design sandals for a casual yet glamorous look. She wore a black leather and wool Coach Classic Varsity Jacket with applique patches over a white tank and distressed skinny jeans. To walk the orange carpet, she rocked a pair of black and white high-top Nikes. But for photos, the mom of 2-year-old Future Jr., with ex-fiancé Future, opted for simple and strappy black sandals. She accessorized with a silver cross necklace, small stud earrings and her large engagement ring.
“Taking It Back To School Vibes..,” she posted of her look in a Friday, July 15, Instagram where she posed by a row of lockers.
Ciara elevated her understated look with daring glam. Celebrity hairstylist Cesar Ramirez styled her dark blonde locks with two small buns atop her head. He let the rest of her hair cascade into loose waves. “Been Wanting To Do My Hair Like This For A While,” Ciara wrote in another Instagram. A bold hairstyle deserved equally bold makeup, so she wore a deep red lip with a smoky eye.
When asked about newlywed life, Wilson, 27, told reporters that the honeymoon still isn’t over. “I’m excited about it. C and I both are crazy in love with one another,” he said on the carpet. “I get to wear this wedding ring now, which is exciting. She gets to wear hers and all that stuff … And her last name’s Wilson now, so that’s kind of cool. I like that, Mrs. Wilson.”
After the show, a source spotted the Wilsons walking to the afterparty hand-in-hand. “Russell was leading Ciara by the hand and everyone was coming up and congratulating them,” the source tells Us Weekly. “They rode down a huge slide together holding hands and raising their arms in the air. They seemed truly happy and in love.”
Zendaya also hit the orange carpet. The K.C. Undercover star, 19, stunned in a mustard Moschino tube top decked with an oversized bow along with leather pants from the same brand. Her black pumps were from her own shoe line, Daya by Zendaya.
Kobe Bryant, who won the Legend Award, brought his wife, Vanessa, and their daughters, Natalia, 13, and Gianna, 10, along for the ride. Vanessa, who announced with her husband that she’s pregnant with their third child on Wednesday, July 13, showed off her bump in a ribbed burgundy maxi dress with long sleeves and a high slit.
