Here come the bride…smaids! Ciara and Russell Wilson tied the knot in front of 100 family members and friends in Liverpool, England, on Wednesday, July 6. And when guests weren’t dropping their jaws over the “Love, Sex, Magic” singer’s custom-made Roberto Cavalli wedding gown, they were taking in her bridesmaids’ stunning black bespoke dresses.
Ciara’s bridesmaids, which included celebs Kelly Rowland and La La Anthony, were dressed to the nines in custom silk, satin, stretch Michael Costello designs. “I loved working on this with Ciara, and all her girls. It was a pleasure to be a part of her special day with Russell,” Costello said in a statement.
Each silhouette was different. Anthony wore a high-collared halter-neck gown, while Rowland stunned in a strapless ruffle mermaid gown. “Every girl’s individual style is implemented in the design of their dress, as well as their personality,” Costello added. “Ciara made sure of that.”
Though each gown had its own unique flair, Costello said they were all inspired by the dress he designed for Ciara when she hosted the Billboard Music Awards in May. According to him, Ciara felt amazing in the look and wanted her ladies to feel the same way.
As for the color of the designs, the “Goodies” singer chose it because it appeals to everyone. “I think Ciara chose black as a bridesmaid color because every woman feels confident in [it],” he noted. “You can’t go wrong.”
